What you'll do
Assist full-time web developers in client projects and assignments across multiple engagement types.
Program, implement, test, and support web-based solutions using the LAMP stack of software technologies.
Perform debugging and problem-solving activities across a wide variety of open-source platforms such as Wordpress and similar systems.
Troubleshoot web browser compatibility issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
Gain practice in explaining technical ideas, designs, and implementation details to peers and management clearly and effectively.
Document development processes and code changes to support team collaboration and future maintenance.
Maintain code quality by following best practices and participating in code reviews where applicable.
Set up local development environments and configure tools to support the development workflow.
Contribute to version control workflows and manage code changes using appropriate branching strategies.
Support the deployment of updates to staging and production environments under supervision.
Learn to interpret project requirements and translate them into technical tasks with minimal direct supervision.
Use data and user feedback to iterate on solutions and improve user experience outcomes.
Collaborate with designers and content creators to integrate visual concepts into functional web interfaces.
Demonstrate reliability by meeting deadlines and communicating progress within the team.
Requirements
Pursuing or holding a Bachelor's Degree in any major is required for this internship position.
Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.4 or above to be considered for this opportunity.
Demonstrate strong communication skills in both written and verbal formats during team interactions.
Show knowledge of at least one open-source CMS platform such as Wordpress or similar systems.
Familiarity with both object-oriented and procedural programming methodologies is expected.
Possess familiarity with PHP and MySQL for database-driven applications.
Have experience working with IDEs such as Eclipse or comparable development environments.
Exhibit an eagerness to learn and be trained on new technologies and processes.

Practical notes
This is an in-person internship based at the riverside campus in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
The internship schedule is flexible with hours and days, and the team will work with interns to determine a schedule that is a mutual fit.
Interns will enjoy their own dedicated workspace and technology setup at the office.
Interns are allowed to wear jeans and casual dress to work each day.
Compensation is provided at a rate of $22 per hour.
