Developer Relations Engineer
Job description
About the role
Cresta is seeking a Developer Relations Engineer to become the technical voice of our AI agent platform within the developer and partner community. This position is a hands-on role that blends software engineering, community storytelling, and event execution. The hire will be responsible for demonstrating how to build, test, and ship real AI agents on the Cresta platform through practical, hands-on guidance. A significant portion of the role involves creating educational materials such as blog posts, written tutorials, and both long and short-form video content including walkthroughs and live coding sessions. The individual in this role will also run workshops and bring real-world learnings from the field back into product development to influence platform improvements. Because Cresta serves large regulated enterprises, the role requires deep technical dives rather than surface-level demonstrations. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with complex integrations, rigorous testing, and evaluation requirements common in enterprise environments.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Create technical content that teaches developers how to build AI agents on Cresta, including blog posts, written tutorials, and long- and short-form video content such as walkthroughs, live coding, and demo breakdowns.
- Build and maintain sample applications, code snippets, and reference integrations that illustrate best practices for building, testing, and evaluating agents on the platform, including contributions to open-source repositories when appropriate.
- Plan and conduct workshops for developers and partners, both virtual and in-person, guiding participants from a zero baseline to a working AI agent by the end of the session.
- Represent Cresta at industry conferences, meetups, and partner events by delivering technical talks and live demonstrations while engaging directly with attendees.
- Run a continuous feedback loop with developers and partners to capture confusion, missing features, or platform issues and translate these insights into clear, actionable items for Product and Engineering teams.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to ensure messaging and documentation remain aligned with the actual capabilities of the platform.
- Improve the onboarding experience and the first-build journey for new developers and partners by creating getting-started guides, sandbox environments, and other supportive resources.
- Stay hands-on with agent building and testing activities, including prompt engineering, tool and function calling, and evaluation methodologies to maintain credibility with the developer audience.
- Write and maintain high-quality technical documentation that supports both new and experienced users of the Cresta developer platform.
- Collaborate with customer success and support teams to identify recurring developer challenges and address them through educational content and platform improvements.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, libraries, and workflows that can enhance the developer experience across the Cresta ecosystem.
- Assist in the development of technical proposals, responses to security questionnaires, and other documentation required by enterprise prospects during the sales process.
- Monitor industry trends in conversational AI and agent development to ensure that Cresta's messaging remains current and technically relevant.
- Act as an internal subject matter expert, mentoring junior team members and contributing to the overall growth of the Developer Relations function.
