Key facts
What you'll do
Build features for Weave's desktop clients using web technologies such as TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS, while contributing to the underlying platform and shared libraries. Coordinate work efforts by communicating clearly with other teams and individuals across the organization to ensure alignment on priorities and timelines. Take responsibility for the long-term code quality of everything you write and maintain, ensuring that the codebase remains clean and approachable over time. Contribute wherever needed as a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team that operates with a high degree of trust and collaboration. Collaborate in a high-trust environment where open communication and mutual respect are the norm and every voice is heard. Design and implement reusable user interface components that perform well and scale effectively across different use cases and screen sizes. Consume and work with RESTful APIs to integrate front-end experiences with back-end services and data sources. Debug applications systematically to identify and resolve issues efficiently, using a variety of diagnostic tools and techniques. Participate in code reviews to ensure consistency, correctness, and quality across the codebase and to share knowledge with teammates. Help define and uphold engineering best practices within the team, including documentation standards and development workflows.
Requirements
4 or more years of experience developing rich applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, and other web technologies. 3 or more years of experience with at least one modern web application framework such as React, Angular, or Ember. Demonstrated experience building high-performance, reusable code, particularly UI components that are maintainable and efficient. Hands-on experience consuming RESTful APIs in a production environment to power front-end features. Strong experience with debugging tools and techniques to troubleshoot complex issues in web applications. Familiarity with version control systems and collaborative development workflows using platforms such as Git. Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables in a fast-paced, self-directed manner. Comfortable working in a remote setting with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to have
Experience with performance tuning and benchmarking applications for speed and efficiency. A habit of following trends and developments in the web platform and emerging standards. Prior experience with NW.js or Electron for desktop application development and packaging. Familiarity with idiomatic TypeScript patterns and conventions for type-safe code. Experience using React together with Redux for centralized state management in applications. Familiarity with Sentry for error monitoring and Storybook for component documentation and discovery. Experience testing applications with Jest and Cypress.io to ensure overall reliability. Knowledge of build tools and bundlers such as Webpack or Vite for optimizing application delivery.
