What you'll do
- Lead and manage the fund accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy in fund accounting processes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulatory bodies, to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
- Monitor and analyze fund performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Drive the implementation of technology solutions to streamline accounting processes and improve data accuracy and reporting capabilities.
- Conduct regular training and development sessions for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in fund accounting practices.
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes for the fund accounting department, ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the fund accounting team and monitor performance against these metrics.
- Participate in strategic planning initiatives, contributing financial insights to support the organization's growth and development.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team, encouraging innovative solutions to enhance fund accounting operations.
- Act as a key point of contact for client inquiries related to fund accounting, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and service delivery.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in fund accounting or a similar financial role, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards relevant to fund accounting.
- Proven experience in managing teams, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools; familiarity with advanced Excel functions is essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
Nice to have
- Experience in the asset management or investment industry is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with international accounting standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of fund administration processes and investment products.
- Experience with financial systems implementation or upgrades.
