About the role
In this role, you analyze market trends and translate insights into compelling positioning and messaging that resonates with channel partners and end-users. You own the outbound marketing narrative for your product line, ensuring all content aligns with strategic business objectives and reinforces competitive differentiation. You collaborate daily with Product Management to shape launch strategies, define use cases, and validate that messaging reflects real-world customer needs. You take responsibility for creating high-impact content, from launch campaigns to sales enablement materials, ensuring clarity and value in every piece you produce. You act as the voice of the market, feeding field feedback and competitive intelligence back to product and sales teams to influence roadmap decisions. You refine messaging through measurable outcomes, iterating on content based on engagement data and stakeholder input. You manage complex projects with discipline, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver polished assets on schedule. You ensure that every story you tell strengthens the product narrative and supports demand generation efforts globally.

What you'll do
Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics that inform product positioning and messaging.
Develop comprehensive content strategy frameworks for new and existing products, defining audience segments, key messages, and engagement metrics.
Write clear, persuasive copy for demand generation campaigns, product documentation, sales enablement tools, and corporate communications.
Own program management for large-scale content projects, coordinating timelines, resources, and dependencies to ensure on-time delivery.
Collaborate with product managers to translate product roadmaps into market-facing narratives that highlight capabilities and customer value.
Partner with creative and web teams to refine messaging for digital platforms, ensuring alignment with brand standards and conversion goals.
Prepare training content for field teams and partners, focusing on product positioning, use cases, and competitive differentiators.
Engage with sales engineering and field teams to gather feedback on messaging effectiveness and demo story clarity.
Update sales and launch materials based on real-world feedback, including demo scripts, battle cards, and presentation decks.
Analyze content performance using key metrics related to user engagement and usage to optimize future messaging and distribution.
Coordinate cross-functional reviews with stakeholders to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment of all marketing deliverables.
Draft and refine webpage copy that reinforces competitive advantages and supports digital marketing initiatives.
Synthesize complex product features into straightforward, powerful narratives that resonate with both technical and business audiences.
Prepare status updates and action items for product launch meetings, facilitating alignment across product marketing, sales, and engineering teams.
Requirements
You possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
You bring a minimum of three years of progressive experience in product marketing, demand generation, or related marketing roles.
You demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and concise messaging for diverse audiences.
You have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, engineering, and creative services.
You are proficient in using Microsoft Office, presentation tools, and project management software to organize and track deliverables.
You understand marketing metrics and can use data to inform content decisions and measure campaign effectiveness.
You are comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
You have a solid grasp of cybersecurity concepts and terminology to accurately represent Watchguard product messaging.
Nice to have
Experience in the cybersecurity industry, particularly with network security or SaaS product marketing.
Familiarity with channel partner programs and MSP-focused marketing initiatives.
Knowledge of marketing automation platforms and content management systems.
Experience with translation and localization processes for global content initiatives.
Background in sales engineering or technical product marketing roles.
Practical notes
This is a regular full-time position based in Seattle, Washington.
Limited travel may be required for stakeholder meetings or industry events.
