What you'll do
Monitor project financial performance by tracking costs, expenses, and budget versus actuals to ensure adherence to forecasted targets and corporate financial policies.
Process and verify subcontractor invoices and client billings, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted within established payment terms to maintain cash flow.
Perform detailed account reconciliations related to project specific general ledger accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly to ensure the integrity of financial records.
Utilize BST Enterprise software to input, validate, and report on project financial data, leveraging the system to generate real time visibility into project health.
Coordinate with project managers and department leads to collect necessary financial information, supporting the month end close process and timely financial reporting.
Analyze project profitability by calculating key metrics such as cost to complete, estimated final costs, and realization rates, providing insights that drive operational improvements.
Maintain strict compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, safeguarding company assets and preventing unauthorized expenditures.
Support the preparation of financial reports and presentations, organizing data in a clear and concise manner to facilitate discussion during leadership meetings and performance reviews.
Execute collections activities related to project billing, communicating with clients to address inquiries, resolve disputes, and secure timely payments against outstanding invoices.
Provide administrative support to the finance leadership by managing documentation, filing, and data entry tasks that underpin the accuracy of the overall accounting function.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes by identifying inefficiencies, suggesting enhancements, and implementing best practices across the finance organization.
Assist in the preparation of year end closing packages specific to project accounting, ensuring that all costs and revenues are properly allocated and documented for audit purposes.
Engage in regular professional development to maintain and enhance technical knowledge of accounting standards, software applications, and industry specific financial regulations.
Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, representing the finance function with professionalism and responsiveness in all interactions.
Requirements
Possess an accounting or business related associate degree with a minimum of three years' experience in a similar role; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
Demonstrate working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite Package, with an advanced proficiency in Excel for financial analysis, reporting, and data manipulation.
Have prior collections and invoice or client billing experience to effectively manage accounts receivable and ensure timely revenue recognition.
Show familiarity with BST Enterprise or similar enterprise resource planning systems used for project accounting and financial management.
Exhibit strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously without sacrificing accuracy or quality.
Maintain excellent presentation skills to communicate financial information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences within the company.
Adhere to a flexible hybrid remote work schedule, understanding that full integration into the team requires on site presence as needed after the initial thirty day employment period.

Knowledge of internal audit procedures and the ability to support compliance testing related to project financial controls.
Familiarity with advanced Excel functions, macros, or data visualization tools that enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Understanding of sustainability initiatives and how they intersect with project financial management and reporting requirements.
