About the role
We are looking for an Accounting Specialist, Accounts Receivable, who will join our Accounting team. This role is central to our finance function and sits within our European operations, where you will manage the full customer receivables lifecycle. You will own the end-to-end process of invoicing, monitoring, and collecting payments while safeguarding our cash flow and customer relationships. The position requires a proactive mindset to investigate issues and drive them to resolution from start to finish. You will act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding their accounts and play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our receivables portfolio. Success in this role means balancing commercial empathy with strict financial controls to ensure payments are collected efficiently. You will also contribute directly to financial reporting and forecasting, providing critical insights to support business decisions. Key facts
What you'll do
Manage the collection process for an assigned portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely payment of outstanding invoices.
Proactively follow up with customers on overdue balances through email, phone and other appropriate communication channels.
Monitor Accounts Receivable aging, identify overdue accounts and payment delays, and escalate potential credit risks as appropriate.
Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, deductions, disputes and other issues impacting collections.
Perform customer account reconciliations and ensure incoming payments are accurately allocated.
Partner closely with Sales, Account Management and other internal teams to resolve commercial or administrative issues affecting customer payments.
Contribute to cash collection forecasts and regular reporting on overdue receivables and collection performance.
Provide information and supporting documentation for bad debt and credit loss assessments, where applicable.
Support month-end and year-end close activities related to Accounts Receivable.
Maintain detailed and organized records of all collection activities, customer communications, and account adjustments.
Ensure adherence to internal policies, accounting procedures and regulatory requirements in all receivables activities.
Support the continuous improvement of billing and collections processes through constructive feedback and best practice implementation.
Assist in the preparation of periodic reports on receivables aging, cash application, and customer account status.
Act as a billing and collections expert for internal stakeholders, providing guidance and training on processes and controls.
Requirements
You are eligible to work in Austria and Germany without restrictions.
You possess a strong background in accounts receivable, billing, or credit management within a B2B environment.
You have demonstrated experience in managing large portfolios of customer accounts and driving collections.
You are proficient in using spreadsheets and accounting systems to track transactions and reconcile accounts.
You have a solid understanding of invoicing principles, billing cycles, and credit control practices.
You are comfortable communicating with both internal teams and external customers regarding sensitive financial matters.
You have a proven track record of resolving payment disputes and investigating billing issues to closure.
You are fluent in written and spoken English, as it is our primary business language across teams and regions.
