Position Description
The appointed candidate will possess a foundational understanding of computer systems and demonstrate a more than basic proficiency with specific industry calculation platforms. Mastery of tools such as Katapult, ikeGPS, O-Calc, SPIDAcalc, or analogous software is a mandatory requirement. The role necessitates a dual capability to perform detailed design work at a desk and to engage with physical installations in the field. Success in this position requires a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
This role owns the complete lifecycle of power hardware, shepherding concepts from initial sketches through rigorous final validation. Daily responsibilities involve a combination of analytical desk calculations and field visits to confirm that designs perform as intended in real-world conditions. The position requires translating ambiguous project limitations into clear, functional electrical pathways. This is achieved while working alongside peers who actively challenge assumptions to refine outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Chart and intake project data, transforming specified requirements into coherent and workable electrical layouts.
- Construct detailed block diagrams and wiring logic utilizing Katapult, ikeGPS, O-Calc, SPIDAcalc, or equivalent computational tools.
- Refine computational models by incorporating findings from occasional site visits and direct measurement confirmations.
- Guard design integrity by coordinating thorough reviews where engineering calculations and regulatory code compliance are meticulously verified.
- Accelerate project delivery by preparing precise documentation packets that enable partners to advance hardware fabrication.
- Enable field crews through accurate schematics, ensuring installation processes proceed without rework or operational delays.
- Maintain institutional standards by diligently updating part libraries and configuration rules that shape future design efforts.
- Close project loops by tracking operational outcomes and institutionalizing lessons learned into next-generation solutions.
Requirements
- A mandatory requirement is an understanding of how electrical power moves through circuits and how protective devices coordinate to manage fault conditions.
- Three to five years of relevant professional experience is mandatory for accurately judging design complexity and associated risk.
- Comfort with general computer use is required, while fluency in specialized calculation software is essential for task completion.
- Field comfort is a necessity, as the incumbent will visit project sites to verify measurements and observe operational conditions directly.
- Self-direction is expected, as the individual will organize competing tasks and sustain focus without direct managerial oversight.
- Team collaboration is essential, given that the work consistently interfaces with engineering and operations peers.

The position is based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is offered as a full-time engagement. Compensation for this role is within the range of 78,000 to 110,000 on an annual basis. Please What you'll do
