In this capacity, you will act as a technical leader responsible for the conception, design, and delivery of civil and environmental solutions that meet stringent regulatory and client demands. You will own the technical integrity of projects, guiding junior staff and ensuring that all deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule. This position requires a balance of independent judgment and collaborative effort to navigate the intricacies of municipal and institutional water projects. Your contributions will directly influence the reliability and sustainability of critical water infrastructure systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify the accuracy of source data during the project intake phase before initiating any design activities or modeling workflows.
- Shape structural layouts using advanced modeling tools, ensuring designs are both innovative and feasible for practical field implementation.
- Orchestrate the creation and management of comprehensive technical documents that align precisely with client expectations and all applicable regulatory standards.
- Coordinate closely with field teams to translate modeled concepts into actionable construction-level requirements and details.
- Conduct rigorous quality control routines to validate that all project deliverables meet defined technical thresholds and client sign-off conditions.
- Forge strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to clarify project constraints and translate them into structured, actionable steps.
- Perform detailed technical modeling within AutoCAD environments to support the configuration of complex civil infrastructure elements.
- Refine documentation packages to integrate sustainability metrics, lifecycle considerations, and long-term performance factors into final outputs.
- Maintain strict version control discipline to safeguard project data across collaborative platforms and ensure robust archival systems.
- Lead the preparation of design calculations, reports, and construction documents that communicate technical solutions clearly to diverse audiences.
- Support the development of proposals and technical responses, ensuring that submissions reflect a deep understanding of scope and requirements.
- Mentor less experienced team members by providing guidance on best practices, software usage, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Ensure all project activities adhere to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry-standard professional practices.
- Act as the primary technical authority for assigned projects, making informed decisions that balance cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a foundational bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from an accredited institution. A minimum of eight to ten years of related experience is required, demonstrating a consistent record of delivering complex infrastructure initiatives successfully. Proficiency with industry-standard software is non-negotiable; daily modeling and documentation activities will utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Revit at an advanced level. You must have a proven ability to interpret and apply engineering plans, survey data, and technical specifications with a high degree of accuracy. The ideal candidate will operate effectively both autonomously and within a team environment, balancing independent problem-solving with cooperative collaboration on multifaceted projects. Superior written and oral communication skills are mandatory to ensure technical recommendations are clearly understood by colleagues, stakeholders, and clients. You must demonstrate organizational excellence and the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and project constraints simultaneously without compromising quality.
