As a Senior Product Designer for our Remix platform, which specializes in transit planning and scheduling, you will be instrumental in redefining the future of public transport. Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead the entire design process for complex planning workflows that aid transit agencies in creating and optimizing fixed-route and demand-responsive transit systems for millions of users worldwide.
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, and transit professionals to translate transportation planning challenges into intuitive, map-based solutions that clients rely on daily.
- Drive product strategy from initial research through to launch by conducting user studies, exploring various design concepts, prototyping, and transforming insights into polished, market-ready experiences.
- Shape the future of the Remix planning platform by identifying opportunities across products, establishing a long-term vision for user experiences, and informing roadmap decisions with a user-centric approach.
- Develop sophisticated workflows for enterprise users, balancing technical constraints, data-rich interfaces, and robust functionality while ensuring a high level of usability and design integrity.
- Improve product quality through meticulous interaction design, strong visual execution, design critiques, and valuable contributions to our design system.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that design solutions are feasible and aligned with business goals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in product design, integrating relevant insights into your work to enhance the user experience continually.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in designing complex SaaS, enterprise, or professional software products, with a portfolio that demonstrates comprehensive ownership from discovery through to launch.
- Strong systemic thinking skills, with the ability to distill complex and information-dense workflows into user-friendly product experiences.
- Exceptional interaction and visual design skills, with a portfolio that includes detailed wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-quality product experiences.
- Proficient in leveraging research, data, and experimentation to inform product direction while balancing user needs, technical limitations, and business objectives.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on user-centered design principles and methodologies.
Nice to have
- Experience with emerging AI-driven design tools and workflows, along with an interest in how AI can enhance design exploration and collaboration while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices in design, ensuring that products are usable by a diverse range of users.
- A background in transportation or urban planning, providing context and insight into the unique challenges faced by transit agencies.
Skills & tools
- Excellent collaboration skills, enabling you to work effectively with product managers, engineers, and clients to address challenging problems.
- Ability to clearly articulate design rationale, actively seeking feedback early in the design process, and mentoring peers through constructive critique.
- A proactive and inquisitive mindset, comfortable navigating ambiguity and taking ownership of challenges without waiting for direction.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite, along with experience in user research methodologies and usability testing.
Practical notes
- Salary Range: $175,000-$200,000, based on the candidate's experience and expertise. This figure excludes equity or variable compensation where applicable.
