What you'll do

• Design, develop, and scale high-performance, reliable systems from initial concept through to production deployment, ensuring they meet the demanding needs of transportation applications.
• Take full ownership of features throughout their lifecycle, including designing, implementing, testing, deploying, and maintaining them to ensure continuous improvement and stability.
• Build and enhance features and APIs for concurrent applications using Golang, ensuring they are optimized for performance and scalability.
• Develop, refine, and optimize geometric and graph algorithms to support core functionalities such as routing, navigation, and geographic data processing.
• Maintain and improve the reliability, stability, and performance of server applications built in Python and Java, ensuring high uptime and responsiveness.
• Write production-quality code that is efficient, maintainable, and optimized for high performance, adhering to best practices in software engineering.
• Conduct performance benchmarks, develop analysis scripts, and process geographical data to support algorithm development and system optimization.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, data scientists, and other engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, code quality, and system architecture to support rapid scaling and evolving product needs.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in algorithms, distributed systems, and transportation technology to bring innovative ideas into the development process.
• Support the troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues related to algorithms, system performance, and data accuracy.
• Document system designs, algorithms, and processes thoroughly to facilitate knowledge sharing and future development efforts.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of robust and high-quality software solutions.
• Assist in mentoring junior team members, sharing expertise, and fostering a collaborative team environment focused on continuous learning and improvement.
• Engage in strategic planning for system architecture and algorithm development to align with the company's long-term goals and technological roadmap.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; a Master's degree is considered a plus.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record in designing and scaling complex systems.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with Python, demonstrating proficiency in writing efficient, maintainable code.
• Experience with Golang for building features and APIs in concurrent applications.
• Familiarity with Java and its ecosystem, with experience maintaining server applications built in Java.
• Strong understanding of essential software engineering concepts, including data structures, algorithms, multithreading, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, or similar cloud services, is advantageous.
• Proven ability to develop and scale distributed, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems.
• Knowledge of geographical data processing, routing algorithms, and spatial data structures is highly desirable.
• Ability to analyze geographical data, develop benchmarks, and create scripts for data processing and system analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable components and deliver effective solutions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies, tools, and concepts relevant to transportation algorithms and system development.
• A proactive, detail-oriented individual capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Passion for tackling algorithmic challenges in transportation, routing, and navigation domains.

• Experience with machine learning or data analysis tools to enhance transportation algorithms.

• Experience working with geographic information systems (GIS) and spatial databases.
