About the role
Verkada is on the lookout for a skilled and enthusiastic Technical Trainer to become part of our Verkada Certified Engineer (VCE) initiative. This position focuses on imparting knowledge to customers and partners regarding our extensive range of AI-driven physical security and operational technology solutions. Your role will be crucial in helping users effectively implement and maximize the use of Verkada products.

What you'll do
- Act as the leading authority on Verkada's product suite, articulating the benefits and features to a variety of audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Conduct engaging and informative training sessions, tailoring the material to accommodate different levels of expertise, from technical installers to executive teams.
- Provide insights on network specifications, assist in product selection for physical security needs, and discuss real-world implementation scenarios.
- Serve as a product advocate, delivering training to internal teams, customers, and partners on both new and existing Verkada solutions.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends in the security and IoT sectors, with opportunities to present at industry conferences and share valuable insights.
- Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of training programs, including tracking attendance and gathering participant feedback for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the VCE team to refine training materials and contribute to the ongoing development of the program.
- Facilitate hands-on workshops to enhance practical understanding of Verkada products and solutions.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive training documentation and resources for future reference.
- Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages questions and interactive discussions.
- Engage with customers post-training to ensure they are successfully utilizing Verkada solutions and address any follow-up queries.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to align training initiatives with product updates and company objectives.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a technical training role, solutions engineering, or another customer-facing technical position.
- A bachelor's degree in Networking, IT Security, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a similar field from an accredited institution.
- Strong grasp of computer networking principles, including HTTPS/SSL, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, NAT, DHCP, and firewall configurations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Self-driven and proactive, with the capability to oversee projects from inception to completion.
- Ability to excel in a dynamic and rapidly changing work environment.
- A genuine passion for software, hardware, cloud security, and IoT technologies.
- Must possess the legal right to work in the U.S. independently; visa sponsorship is not an option for this role.
Nice to have
- Relevant industry certifications such as AWS, CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, MCSE, CEH, Security+, A+, Network+, Microsoft Azure, CISSP, or CSP.
- Experience in developing e-learning modules or online training resources.
- Familiarity with various learning management systems (LMS) and training delivery platforms.

Practical notes
- This position requires approximately 50-60% travel within the Eastern U.S. region to conduct training sessions and workshops.
