About the role
About the role Verkada is hiring a Senior Technical Support Engineer to join our team supporting enterprise clients. You will manage complex technical escalations, troubleshoot hardware and software environments, and mentor junior team members while preparing for future leadership responsibilities. Key facts
Location: USA
Engagement: Full-time, 5 days per week on-site
Salary: $51 to $60 USD per hour What you'll do
Perform full-stack troubleshooting across network, electrical, hardware, and software components
Advise enterprise customers on installation, configuration, and design best practices
Manage customer escalations from initial report through final resolution
Provide technical communication to partners and clients
Partner with Product and Engineering teams to test new releases and report bugs
Create internal tools and operational processes to improve team efficiency Requirements - 2+ years of professional experience in technical support or similar roles
Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Systems Administration, Telecommunications, or Networking
Deep knowledge of network fundamentals: TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, VLANs, DNS, NAT, DHCP, 802.11, firewalls, PoE, and Ethernet/cabling
Ability to work on-site in San Mateo, CA
Interest in transitioning into a people management career path
Strong customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills
Experience with Linux, Python, APIs, or electrical hardware Nice to have
Industry certifications including CCNA, CCNP, CCENT, CCDA, Network+, Security+, A+, MCSE, CWNA, CWNP, or CEH Skills & tools
