The company has achieved significant market momentum, serving more than 30,000 customers, including over 100 of the Fortune 500 companies. Verkada holds a valuation of $5.8B and records more than $1 billion in annualized bookings. The firm receives backing from CapitalG, Sequoia Capital, General Catalyst, Felicis Ventures, Next47, and other investors. Physical AI represents one of the most consequential technology shifts of this era, and Verkada sits at the center of this transformation. More than 2 million Verkada devices are currently deployed across 170+ countries, demonstrating rapid global scaling and real-world impact. Examples include a retailer using agentic AI to deter theft, a warehouse employing AI-powered alerts to ensure teams use proper PPE, and a school that triggers a lockdown in seconds after detecting a threat.
This role is a Staff Frontend Engineer position based in San Mateo, California. The engagement is full-time, with a compensation range of $175,000 to $230,000 USD annually. You will own the interface strategy that spans intake, construction, validation, delivery, and external collaboration. In this capacity, you shape how thousands of enterprise users interact with Verkada systems each day. You define the rules that maintain UI consistency across numerous products and teams.
You will design tokens and components that guide intake workflows and ensure data clarity. This work supports the delivery of a cohesive user experience across connected devices at scale. You will architect reusable patterns that streamline build cycles for multiple product teams. Conducting rigorous reviews with engineers and designers will be essential to uphold quality standards. Your interfaces will remain stable and performant even during high-stress operational moments.
Collaboration with security and infrastructure groups will help align long-term platform goals. You will champion accessibility rules so that enterprise tools remain usable by diverse teams everywhere. Optimizing runtime performance will keep complex dashboards responsive across varied devices. Comprehensive documentation of component behaviors will give product teams the confidence to integrate systems effectively.
You bring four or more years of experience crafting front-end solutions focused on interface clarity. Mastery of React and TypeScript is required, along with proficiency in styling modern web interfaces. A proven record of building or extending design systems used by many teams is necessary. You deeply understand component-driven workflows and testing strategies for user interfaces. You communicate precisely while partnering with product design and platform groups. Your ability to refine complex user flows ensures they remain intuitive under enterprise constraints. You ensure interfaces meet accessibility standards so tools serve every user fairly. You write tests that catch regressions and validate visual consistency across components.
Experience contributing to large-scale microfrontend architectures and tooling is valued but not required. Core skills and tools include React, TypeScript, Storybook, Figma, CSS Modules, CSS-in-JS, Jest, and Visual Regression Testing. Before proceeding, to ensure full alignment with expectations and requirements.

- Champion accessibility practices so enterprise tools remain usable and efficient for all user groups.
- Refactor legacy interface patterns to improve maintainability and performance within large-scale microfrontend environments.
- Validate data clarity in intake flows to reduce errors and improve downstream system reliability.
- Streamline build cycles through intelligent component architecture and tooling improvements.
- Support rigorous quality assurance by developing tests that catch regressions and validate visual fidelity.
- Act as a technical leader who influences frontend direction across the organization through mentorship and documentation.
