About the role
Verkada is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Global Services division where you will own the technical execution of large scale deployments for our strategic customer base. In this capacity, you will act as the primary technical authority for the entire Verkada product suite during post sales engagements and complex implementations. You will partner closely with our Global Services Manager and Territory Account Executives to design, configure, and validate secure and scalable security and IoT solutions in customer environments. This role requires direct ownership of project workflows from initial scoping through final handover and optimization. You will deliver vendor led training sessions to ensure customer teams understand system operations and best practices. You will serve as the main technical point of contact for stakeholders ranging from IT directors to C level executives during critical deployment phases. You will collaborate with internal Sales Account Executives to define service strategies, workflows, and expansion opportunities within existing customer accounts. You will educate internal teams, partners, and customers on new product releases, feature sets, and architectural updates.

What you'll do
- Act as the primary technical authority for the full Verkada product suite during post sales engagements and complex implementations.
- Manage end to end deployment projects to ensure successful integration of Verkada hardware, software, and cloud services within client environments.
- Configure and optimize product features, analytics, and use cases to align with specific customer business requirements and operational goals.
- Deliver vendor led training to customers, translating technical concepts into actionable operational procedures for diverse audiences.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for stakeholders ranging from IT directors to C level executives during critical decision points.
- Collaborate with Sales Account Executives on service strategies, workflows, and expansion opportunities to identify incremental project scopes.
- Educate internal teams, partners, and customers on new product releases, feature enhancements, and architectural best practices.
- Perform detailed solution design sessions, translating customer needs into technically feasible Verkada deployments.
- Conduct pre deployment site surveys to assess network conditions, physical constraints, and integration requirements.
- Document deployment procedures, configuration standards, and troubleshooting guides for internal knowledge sharing.
- Coordinate with engineering and product teams to escalate and resolve technical issues that arise during implementation.
- Support the development of service playbooks and standard operating procedures for global service delivery.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Technical Account Manager, Sales Engineer, Professional Services Consultant, or Network Engineer, with a history of supporting Fortune 500 clients and managing complex technology deployments.
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field that provides foundational knowledge of system architectures.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to meet FedRAMP compliance requirements for handling government related workloads and sensitive data.
- Proficiency in networking concepts including TCP/IP, HTTPS/SSL, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, NAT, firewalls, and software systems that underpin cloud and on premises architectures.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to engage with client sites, conduct assessments, and oversee installations across multiple geographic locations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical details to both technical and executive audiences in a clear and concise manner.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects and timelines in fast paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfort working directly with stakeholders at all organizational levels, from technical practitioners to senior leadership responsible for strategic technology decisions.
- Willingness to adhere to strict compliance and security standards required for working with enterprise and government adjacent customers.
Nice to have
- Industry certifications such as AWS, CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, MCSE, CEH, Security+, A+, or Network+ that validate technical expertise and commitment to professional development.
- Experience working with Linux systems, including command line operations, service management, and integration in hybrid environments.
- Background in startup environments where roles are dynamic, responsibilities are broad, and rapid learning is essential for success.

Compensation: Annual OTE range of $165,000 to $240,000 USD, plus potential for equity (RSUs) and discretionary bonuses as part of the total rewards package.
