Verkada is hiring a Senior IT Systems Engineer to own and advance corporate cloud infrastructure and identity management systems. You will build automations, strengthen security posture, and connect internal platforms using serverless tools and workflow engines. What you'll do
- Own the design and upkeep of identity management, endpoint management, and security infrastructure while ensuring compliance and smooth user experiences
- Create and refine automations using advanced scripting and serverless platforms such as AWS Lambda and Google Cloud Functions
- Build and maintain integrations through Workato, Okta Workflows, or comparable tools to automate key business processes
- Write and enforce system and security policies that follow industry standards
- Partner with Security, Engineering, Business Systems, and People Operations teams on scalable, secure solutions
- Provide Tier 3 support and troubleshooting for complex technical issues
- Produce runbooks, scripts, and detailed documentation to support day-to-day operations
- Identify opportunities to improve system architecture, automate workflows, and increase efficiency
Requirements
- 6+ years total IT experience with 4+ years focused on IT systems engineering, infrastructure, IT security, or related technical work
- Advanced knowledge of identity management, SCIM integrations, and user lifecycle management with hands-on Okta experience or equivalent
- Strong scripting and programming skills, particularly Python for automations in AWS Lambda or Google Cloud Functions
- Proven experience building integrations and automations with Workato or similar enterprise automation platforms
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure on AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, including networking fundamentals, security practices, and infrastructure-as-code methods
- Proficiency with configuration management and policy automation tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Clear communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences
- Track record of independently managing complex projects from concept through completion and documentation
- History of effective cross-team collaboration

- You must be independently authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this role
- Estimated annual pay range: $150,000 to $190,000 USD; additional compensation may include discretionary bonuses and equity in the form of RSUs
