About the role
Verkada is on the lookout for a skilled AV Engineer to become the key technical resource for our East Coast operations. This position involves overseeing the functionality of our conference facilities in New York City while also traveling to assist with significant office setups across various locations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, capable of providing high-level support to executives, and adept at hands-on tasks related to hardware installation and infrastructure upkeep.

What you'll do
- Conduct daily inspections of conference rooms to confirm that all audio-visual systems are functioning correctly.
- Deliver exceptional support during leadership meetings, company-wide gatherings, and other high-profile events.
- Oversee office buildout initiatives, which include tasks such as rack assembly, device installation, and cable management.
- Keep precise records of project documentation, including as-built drawings and configuration details.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with audio, video, and conferencing equipment across various regional offices.
- Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to facilitate system upgrades and ongoing maintenance.
- Offer remote assistance to our European offices during overlapping working hours.
- Assist in the training of staff on the use of AV systems and equipment to ensure effective utilization.
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss project progress and share insights on AV technology trends.
- Maintain an inventory of AV equipment and supplies, ensuring that all necessary materials are readily available for projects.
- Stay updated on the latest AV technologies and best practices to continuously improve service delivery.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years of experience working in corporate AV settings.
- Demonstrated technical skills in building racks, pulling cables, and reading AV schematics.
- Familiarity with video conferencing systems such as Zoom Rooms, Neat, QSC, or DTen.
- Capability to work autonomously as the primary resource for the region.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with executives and external service providers.
- Physical capacity to lift up to 50 lbs, ascend ladders, and operate lifts safely.
- A valid driver's license and a passport for international travel are essential.
- Willingness to accommodate early morning shifts and occasional after-hours support for events.
Nice to have
- Relevant certifications such as CTS, CTS-I, Q-SYS, or Dante would be advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with Dante or AV-over-IP networking is a plus.
- Proficiency in Q-SYS design, configuration, or commissioning would be beneficial.
Skills & tools
- Expertise in audio and video installation and troubleshooting.
- Experience in rack building and cable termination, particularly with Cat6 cabling.
- Familiarity with various video conferencing platforms and their functionalities.
- Understanding of fundamental IT networking concepts.
- Ability to create and maintain technical documentation for AV systems.
