Senior Architect - Commercial Life Sciences

About the role

You will own the definition and governance of commercial technology architecture for strategic Life Sciences clients, ensuring alignment between business objectives and Veeva solution design. You will lead business process due diligence sessions and translate complex commercial requirements into clear end-user specifications and application design artifacts. In this role, you will advise customers on best practices for commercial cloud adoption, including data integration strategies, master data management, and compliant content architecture. You will collaborate with Solution Architects and cross-functional teams to create cohesive multi-channel CRM landscapes that drive commercial excellence. You will evaluate and design systems and data integrations or migration approaches to support scalable and compliant commercial operations. You will mentor junior team members and elevate the quality of deliverables through peer reviews and knowledge sharing. You will act as a trusted advisor to customers, balancing innovation with regulatory realities in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of Veeva's commercial architecture frameworks and play a key role in driving customer success and retention.

What you'll do

Define and document commercial application architecture, end-user requirements, and integration strategies for Veeva customer implementations.

Perform business process due diligence and maturity assessments to identify gaps and opportunities for commercial process optimization.

Design compliant commercial content and data models that support integrated master data across sales, marketing, and customer service functions.

Evaluate multi-channel CRM architectures and advise on best practices for commercial engagement across diverse life sciences markets.

Collaborate with Solution Architects and vendors to develop systems and data integration or migration strategies that meet customer objectives.

Lead the creation of deliverables throughout the full lifecycle delivery of Veeva applications, ensuring alignment with customer milestones and quality standards.

Partner with customers, vendors, and internal Veeva colleagues to resolve complex commercial architecture challenges and drive solution adoption.

Support the development of business cases and value propositions that highlight the impact of commercial technology investments on customer success.

Champion the use of industry cloud principles and guide customers in adopting scalable, future-ready commercial architectures.

Act as a technical and strategic thought leader in commercial life sciences, contributing to reference architectures and client-facing workshops.

Provide subject matter expertise on regulatory considerations and compliance implications within commercial technology environments.

Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and translating them into updated architecture guidelines and implementation playbooks.

Requirements

You possess a Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent work experience.

You bring 10+ years of experience in commercial life sciences technology architecture or a related field.

You have 5+ years of experience specifically with Veeva systems or similar life sciences cloud platforms.

You hold expertise in commercial application architecture, including systems integration, data migration, and process optimization.

You demonstrate strong knowledge of life sciences commercial regulations and compliance considerations.

You have proven experience conducting business process assessments and due diligence for enterprise clients.

You show a track record of managing complex, multi-channel CRM implementations in regulated industries.

You communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and executive leadership.

You are comfortable working in a remote, flexible Work Anywhere environment while maintaining high levels of accountability.

You are willing to travel to meet customer needs, with the requirement to be in close proximity to an airport for future travel.

You have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including consultants, product managers, and customer success organizations.

You hold a strong understanding of master data management principles as they apply to commercial life sciences.

You are proficient in creating end-user requirements and architectural artifacts that guide implementation teams.

You demonstrate commitment to ethical business practices and the mission-driven values of a public benefit corporation.

Nice to have

Experience with industry-specific commercial clouds and reference architectures in life sciences.

Practical notes

This is a remote, full-time permanent role with Veeva. This is a customer-facing role and we have no work location requirement if you are in close proximity to an airport and able to meet future travel requirements.
