Key facts

What you'll do

• Lead the design of Adobe Commerce (Magento) architectures for complex, large-scale implementations, participating in initial planning and execution of the most intricate project features.
• Ensure functional and non-functional requirements are met, managing project constraints such as deadlines, budgets, risks, and licensing considerations.
• Translate technical architectural concepts and trade-offs into language understandable by non-technical stakeholders, communicating decisions clearly across the organization.
• Guarantee the quality of delivered products, particularly regarding architectural requirements, through active participation in code review processes.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to prospects and new clients, helping them understand how the architecture supports their journey toward innovative digital enterprises.
• Support sales and delivery teams by designing, developing, and presenting solutions, as well as producing cost, risk, and feasibility estimates for proposals.
• Identify risks and vulnerabilities in solutions, define mitigation strategies, and ensure concerns are addressed and risks eliminated.
• Coordinate target architecture across multiple projects, ensuring long-term platform stability, and participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, planning, and retrospectives.
• Track emerging technologies and evolutions of the Adobe Commerce ecosystem, share acquired knowledge, and recommend adoption when relevant.
• Mentor engineers and other architects, and actively collaborate with Valtech's global developer community.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as an Architect or Technical Lead with Adobe Commerce / Magento (Open Source and/or Commerce Cloud).
• Solid understanding of e-commerce architecture, including catalog, checkout process, payments, order management, and integrations with third-party systems such as ERP, CRM, PIM, and OMS.
• Strong proficiency in PHP and the Magento/Adobe Commerce technology stack, including customization, extensions, and best practices.
• Experience designing solutions focused on performance, scalability, and security in high-traffic e-commerce environments.
• Ability to communicate architectural compromises and business trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven experience in leading or significantly contributing to complex delivery programs involving multiple stakeholders.
• Fluent English, both written and verbal.

Nice to have

• Certifications in Adobe Commerce / Magento (e.g., Certified Solution Specialist, Certified Professional Cloud Developer).
• Experience with headless/composable commerce architectures (Adobe Commerce with PWA Studio, Vue Storefront, or similar solutions).
• Knowledge of Adobe Experience Cloud products (AEM, Adobe Analytics, Target).
• Experience within a consulting firm or agency working with multiple clients and across various industry sectors.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure) and DevOps / CI-CD practices in e-commerce environments.
