About the role
This position centers on designing, building, and maintaining secure and reliable cloud infrastructure through automation and infrastructure-as-code practices. You will own the end-to-end delivery of cloud platforms, ensuring that environments are scalable, observable, and resilient while embedding security controls from the earliest design stages. The role requires close collaboration with development and operations teams to streamline deployment pipelines, enforce compliance policies, and reduce manual toil through automation. You will play a key part in shaping the technical direction of cloud services, translating business requirements into robust architectural solutions. A strong emphasis is placed on clear communication, enabling you to explain complex technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will spend a significant portion of your time on planning, code review, debugging, and mentoring peers, rather than only writing new code. What you'll do
Design and implement secure cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools to automate provisioning and configuration across multiple environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define deployment pipelines, integrate security checks, and ensure that DevSecOps practices are followed consistently.
Monitor cloud operations, investigate incidents, and implement improvements to enhance reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
Manage identity and access controls, network configurations, and encryption mechanisms to maintain a strong security posture.
Automate repetitive tasks and build reusable components to reduce manual effort and increase consistency in cloud operations.
Partner with development teams to embed security scanning, compliance validation, and policy enforcement into the software delivery lifecycle.
Analyze system metrics and logs to detect anomalies, optimize resource usage, and support data-driven decisions for platform improvements.
Contribute to architectural reviews, ensuring that cloud designs align with scalability, availability, and disaster recovery objectives.
Support the evaluation and adoption of new cloud services and tools that enhance the security and efficiency of the platform.
Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and runbooks to ensure clarity, maintainability, and knowledge sharing within the team.
Participate in on-call rotations to respond to production issues and provide timely resolutions with minimal disruption to services.
Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement by sharing insights, best practices, and lessons learned from past incidents.
Assist in setting up governance frameworks for cloud usage, cost management, and regulatory compliance.
Act as a technical liaison between cloud operations, security, and application teams to drive alignment and shared ownership of platform outcomes.
Requirements
The posting states a bachelor's degree requirement. You must possess X years of experience in cloud engineering or a related role, with a proven track record of delivering secure and scalable infrastructure.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is mandatory, including a deep understanding of core services and networking concepts.
