About the role

This role operates at the intersection of business and technology within Valtech, where you will serve as a hands-on specialist embedded within multidisciplinary delivery teams. You are responsible for designing and implementing scalable low-code solutions for enterprise clients using the Appian platform, directly modernising business operations through workflow automation and intelligent digital experiences. The focus is on delivering tangible business value by transforming complex operational challenges into streamlined, automated processes. You will act as a technical authority, ensuring that every solution adheres to stringent standards of security, maintainability, and alignment with Appian best practices. What you'll do

You will remain current with Appian capabilities, embracing new features and identifying automation and component reuse opportunities to maximise client ROI and reduce time-to-value. You will analyse system performance using the Appian Health Check report and process monitoring tools to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions that maintain production stability. You will implement Appian security models and rigorously manage deployments, release pipelines, and troubleshooting activities to ensure the integrity and reliability of production applications. You will author comprehensive technical design documentation and deliver high-quality solutions that consistently meet defined acceptance criteria and stakeholder expectations. You will actively participate in Agile ceremonies, working effectively within Agile Scrum teams and contributing to sprint planning, refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement. You will communicate clearly and professionally with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and technical teams to ensure transparency and shared understanding throughout the project lifecycle. You will adopt a proactive learning mindset, dedicating time to explore emerging Appian capabilities and evaluate their applicability to future client challenges. You will champion best practices in enterprise application design, ensuring that all solutions are scalable, resilient, and aligned with industry standards. Requirements

You possess proven experience delivering enterprise-scale Appian solutions within complex client environments that demand high reliability and performance. You have strong experience developing Appian applications using Records, Record Types, Relationships, SAIL Interfaces, Process Models, Sites, Reports and CDTs, demonstrating a comprehensive mastery of the platform. You understand relational databases, SQL, data modelling and enterprise data structures deeply, allowing you to design efficient and effective data layers for your applications. You are comfortable working in blended teams of client and third-party vendor staff, adapting quickly to different tools, processes, and team cultures without losing productivity. You have experience designing integrations using Connected Systems, Web APIs and external services, choosing appropriate integration patterns and implementation approaches that are secure and maintainable. You use the Appian Health Check report and process monitoring tools to identify performance bottlenecks and maintain production stability, ensuring applications run smoothly under varying loads. You implement Appian security models and manage deployments, release pipelines and troubleshooting for production applications, maintaining a strong focus on risk mitigation and operational excellence. You produce technical design documentation and deliver high-quality solutions that meet defined acceptance criteria, ensuring that business needs are fully addressed. You follow Appian development best practices and enterprise application design principles consistently, writing clean, reusable, and well-structured code.
