SFMC Core-L3 Analyst
Job description
About the role
This role resolves high-complexity Salesforce incidents and evolves platform configuration. You will analyze cross-system interactions and support enterprise integrations while maintaining security and compliance. The work serves enterprise clients and their digital experience initiatives. You will translate intricate technical issues into clear narratives for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment on resolution strategies. The position demands a proactive approach to diagnosing root causes rather than merely addressing surface-level symptoms. You will act as a key technical resource, leveraging deep platform expertise to unblock critical business workflows. Success in this role is defined by your ability to stabilize complex environments and enhance platform reliability for enterprise customers. You will continuously assess configuration patterns and recommend improvements that reduce future incident volumes.

Experience with integration architectures involving middleware platforms and REST, SOAP, and platform-event-based integrations connects disparate systems.
Incident and problem management experience in an ITSM-driven environment ensures structured resolution paths.
Ability to perform impact analysis across a multi-system ecosystem and produce clear functional and technical specifications supports developer execution.
Knowledge of data privacy and security operational requirements, including access management, sharing models, and right-to-be-forgotten processes, is mandatory.

Practical notes
Typical interview steps
Analyst interviews often include a SQL or spreadsheet exercise, a case question, and behavioral rounds. Candidates may be asked to analyze a dataset, define a metric, or estimate an outcome. Presenting findings clearly is tested as often as the analysis itself. Interviewers often test speed and clarity with a timed exercise. Explaining what the numbers mean, not just what they are, is the differentiator.
Good to know
Salesforce roles of this type rely on configuration and log analysis instead of custom code development.
Platform events, integration middleware, and multi-system ecosystems are common focus areas.
Agile ceremonies and collaboration with cross-functional teams are central to daily work.
Incident management and problem management practices are central to the role.
Questions to ask
Good questions to ask the employer in the interview: what does success look like in the first six months, how is the team structured, what is the current biggest challenge, and how are decisions made. Asking about growth paths and the review process is also well received. Employers expect questions, and good ones show preparation.
Career growth
Analyst careers can grow into senior analyst, analytics manager, or data science roles. Some analysts move into product or business operations. Deeper technical skills or broader business ownership are the two main paths. Analyst roles are a common on-ramp into product, marketing, or operations leadership. Building deep domain knowledge alongside analytics is the fastest path.
