About the role
The owns the development, validation, and continuous optimization of measurement systems that underpin the design, manufacturing, and troubleshooting of advanced connectivity solutions. This position owns direct responsibility for ensuring that measurement processes are accurate, reliable, and fully aligned with engineering design intent. The role owns deep collaboration with engineering, product development, metrology technicians, and manufacturing teams to translate requirements into executable measurement strategies. The hire will own the creation and maintenance of metrology programs, software tools, fixtures, and accessories that support both new and existing products. This position owns the analysis of measurement data to drive process performance, product quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role also owns the responsibility for clear communication of results to stakeholders through timely and actionable reports. Ultimately, this role owns a critical part of the quality and precision foundation that powers the company's innovation in precision plastics and AI connectivity solutions.

What you'll do
Develop, maintain, and optimize metrology programs, software tools, fixtures, accessories, and measurement processes to support new and existing products.
Gain and apply expert knowledge of US Conec's metrology equipment and measurement technologies to ensure proper application and calibration.
Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements to ensure measurements accurately reflect design intent and contractual specifications.
Create, validate, and maintain measurement programs, procedures, and best practices across the metrology function to standardize operations.
Support mold monitoring and process improvement initiatives by providing accurate measurement data and feedback to manufacturing teams for corrective action.
Collaborate with metrology technicians and engineering teams to plan, execute, and evaluate experiments and validation activities that verify performance.
Respond to internal measurement requests and communicate results through clear, timely, and actionable reports that enable decision-making.
Analyze measurement data using statistical methods and software tools to identify trends, support decision-making, and drive continuous improvement.
Generate charts, graphs, presentations, and technical reports using tools such as Excel, Minitab, MATLAB, and other data analysis platforms for stakeholder consumption.
Design and support metrology-related fixtures, tooling, and CAD-based solutions as needed to facilitate accurate and efficient measurements.
Maintain an organized, efficient, and compliant metrology laboratory environment that supports safe and effective operations.
Spend at least 50% of the work week onsite supporting metrology operations, equipment, technicians, and collaborative engineering activities to ensure alignment.
Requirements
Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline as the foundation for advanced metrology responsibilities.
Must possess a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and dimensional measurement concepts to evaluate complex features accurately.
Must demonstrate a working knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation to ensure measurements align with design requirements.
Must have experience planning tests, collecting data, and analyzing results to support evidence-based conclusions and decisions.
Must show familiarity with statistical analysis methods and quality data evaluation to derive insights and validate process capability.
Must exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical findings clearly to diverse audiences.
Must have experience using Microsoft Excel and other technical software tools for data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
Must possess the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative environment while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
Must have experience working with precision measurement equipment in a laboratory, manufacturing, or engineering setting to ensure proper calibration and usage.
Nice to have
Experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and related metrology hardware and software.
Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) techniques and the use of control charts for monitoring manufacturing processes.
Experience in injection molding or precision plastic part manufacturing environments.
Understanding of automation and data integration methods for measurement systems and laboratory informatics.
Familiarity with quality management systems and related compliance requirements such as ISO standards.
Experience supporting cross-functional teams in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.
