About the role
Uprite Construction is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent with strong cold storage and temperature controlled facility experience to lead field operations on complex projects across the United States. This role owns the day to day execution of projects from preconstruction through closeout while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and schedule. The hire will manage all on site activities, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and ensure strict adherence to technical requirements for refrigerated environments. This position requires a hands on leader who thrives in fast paced environments and is comfortable making decisions to keep projects moving forward. The role demands strong leadership, proactive problem solving, and meticulous attention to detail under demanding conditions.

What you'll do
- Lead day to day field operations from preconstruction through project closeout, maintaining full oversight of construction activities.
- Manage project schedules, subcontractors, and on site coordination to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery of all project milestones.
- Oversee installation and coordination of cold storage systems including insulated metal panels, refrigeration infrastructure, freezer and cooler environments, and temperature controlled building envelopes.
- Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to maintain clear communication and seamless execution of project objectives.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance across all job sites, implementing best practices at every level.
- Maintain detailed daily reports, site documentation, and progress tracking to provide accurate status updates to leadership.
- Proactively identify risks, resolve field issues, and maintain project momentum to avoid delays and protect the schedule.
- Support budgeting and cost control efforts by monitoring productivity, rework, and material usage throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating processes, suggesting enhancements, and fostering a culture of excellence within the field teams.
- Serve as the primary on site representative for Uprite Construction, ensuring that all project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Superintendent on cold storage, refrigerated warehouse, food processing, or temperature controlled construction projects, demonstrating a strong track record in these sectors.
- Strong knowledge of insulated panel systems, vapor barriers, thermal breaks, and specialized cold storage construction practices required for successful project execution.
- Experience managing complex schedules and multiple subcontractors on active construction sites while maintaining clear oversight and accountability.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationwide for extended project assignments, adapting to varying project conditions and demands.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills necessary to guide diverse teams through complex construction challenges.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance in every working environment.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents with accuracy and efficiency.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license required to support national travel and project site mobility.
Nice to have
- Experience delivering large scale industrial or distribution facilities, demonstrating capability in complex project environments.
- OSHA certification or strong safety leadership background, showing a proactive approach to workplace safety and risk mitigation.
- Experience working on West Coast projects or multi state construction environments, providing familiarity with regional requirements and conditions.
Practical notes
This is a fully traveling role with no fixed home location. Candidates must be open to project based travel anywhere within the United States, and the initial project assignment is anticipated to be on the West Coast. Travel expectations, schedule, and project locations will be determined based on business needs. Uprite Construction reserves the right to adjust assignments as required to meet project demands.
