About the role
The owns the coordination and administration of project documentation to ensure information flow is accurate and timely. This role owns the tracking of subcontractor scopes and material deliveries to maintain alignment with project objectives. The hire will support project scheduling and monitor milestone progress to identify potential impacts early. They own the management of Requests for Information, submittals, shop drawings, and all associated project documentation. The Project Engineer assists with project budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and change order management to protect the financial integrity of each project. They own the attendance at project meetings and are responsible for documenting meeting minutes and action items for future reference. This position owns the review of construction drawings and specifications for completeness and coordination to prevent field issues. Finally, the hire will build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to foster a collaborative environment.

What you'll do
Support Project Managers and Superintendents throughout all phases of construction from initial mobilization to final closeout.
Assist with project startup, planning, and closeout activities to ensure all administrative requirements are fulfilled efficiently.
Manage Requests for Information, submittals, shop drawings, and project documentation to maintain data integrity and compliance.
Track and distribute project documents to owners, architects, consultants, and subcontractors to guarantee accessibility and version control.
Assist with project scheduling and monitor milestone progress to facilitate proactive decision making and resource allocation.
Coordinate subcontractor scopes, material deliveries, and procurement activities to optimize workflow and prevent delays.
Support project budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and change order management to control expenditures and manage expectations.
Attend project meetings and document meeting minutes and action items to capture decisions and responsibilities accurately.
Review construction drawings and specifications for completeness and coordination to mitigate risks and rework.
Help ensure compliance with contract documents, safety standards, and quality expectations to uphold project standards.
Maintain organized project files and accurate records using project management software to support auditability and reporting.
Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to encourage trust and communication.
Requirements
2 or more years of experience as a Project Engineer working for a commercial general contractor.
Experience supporting ground up commercial construction projects is required for this position.
Experience with industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, office, retail, or other commercial projects is preferred by the team.
Strong understanding of commercial construction processes and project documentation is essential for success in this role.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately without constant supervision.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem solving skills are mandatory for handling complex project demands.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required to perform daily tasks and generate professional documentation.
Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software is preferred for efficiency.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred to strengthen technical knowledge.
