About the role
Uprite Construction is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead ground up commercial construction projects across Southern California and throughout the United States as needed. This role is ideal for a hands on field leader with strong tilt up or industrial construction experience who thrives in fast paced environments and is comfortable traveling for projects. The Superintendent's home base must be within the Southern California region. You will own the daily execution and delivery of assigned projects from start to finish, making critical on site decisions that impact schedule, quality, and safety. You will act as the primary on site representative for Uprite Construction, ensuring that client expectations are met or exceeded through consistent communication and professionalism. You will drive the implementation of company policies and procedures while adapting to the unique challenges of each project. This position requires a self motivated leader who is accountable for resource management, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement in the field. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to complete projects safely, on time, and within budget while fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead all on site construction activities from project start through completion, overseeing every critical path activity.
- Oversee ground up commercial projects including tilt up concrete and or industrial structures, ensuring alignment with contract documents.
- Coordinate subcontractors, inspectors, and vendors to maintain schedule, quality, and productivity across all trades.
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with local codes and company policies, promoting a zero incident culture.
- Maintain daily field reports, schedules, and accurate progress updates for transparent project communication.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and leadership to resolve field issues efficiently and proactively.
- Represent Uprite professionally with clients, inspectors, and trade partners in all interactions and negotiations.
- Monitor and manage project costs, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as required.
- Track and document all project milestones, change orders, and potential risks to protect project integrity.
- Facilitate toolbox talks and safety briefings to reinforce best practices and regulatory compliance on site.
- Ensure quality control measures are executed consistently to meet or exceed client specifications and industry standards.
- Support the development and mentoring of subordinate team members to enhance overall crew performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Superintendent on ground up commercial construction projects with a strong track record of delivery.
- Tilt up construction and or industrial project experience required to effectively manage complex structural systems.
- Strong commercial construction background including industrial, warehouse, or large scale projects demonstrating versatility.
- Home base must be located within the Southern California region to ensure rapid response and availability.
- Ability and willingness to travel across Southern California and throughout the United States as project needs require flexibility.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills to guide teams through challenges and deadlines.
- Willingness to adhere to company policies, client expectations, and all applicable regulatory requirements without exception.
