About the role
You will architect and execute the end-to-end onboarding strategy for our merchant clients across the Asia Pacific region, owning the full journey from initial contact to live activation. You will design and refine the onboarding playbook, ensuring every touchpoint reflects the Unlimit platform of programmable finance and global infrastructure. You will serve as the strategic orchestrator between sales, compliance, engineering, and partnerships to remove blockers and accelerate time-to-value. You will translate complex regulatory and technical requirements into clear, client-friendly workflows that reinforce trust and transparency. You will build scalable processes that maintain consistency as the portfolio grows across diverse markets and use cases. You will monitor onboarding health metrics, identify friction points, and implement improvements that boost completion and satisfaction. You will mentor junior team members and set the standard for excellence in client stewardship and operational rigor. You will continuously benchmark our onboarding experience against industry leaders to ensure Unlimit remains at the forefront of innovation in financial infrastructure.

What you'll do
Map the end-to-end onboarding funnel for APAC merchants, documenting each step and identifying automation opportunities.
Design standardized workflows and templates that guide clients through KYC, risk assessment, and integration checkpoints.
Coordinate with regional compliance partners to validate documentation and ensure adherence to local financial regulations.
Liaise directly with engineering and product teams to translate client requirements into technical onboarding specifications.
Conduct deep-dive reviews of merchant business models to assess risk exposure and alignment with platform capabilities.
Develop training materials and toolkits that empower client success managers to execute onboarding with precision.
Establish clear SLAs and milestone tracking for each onboarding project to maintain predictable launch timelines.
Run structured interviews with stakeholders to uncover unique settlement, currency, and routing needs across APAC markets.
Collaborate with legal and partnerships to update onboarding documentation as regulations and product features evolve.
Analyze drop-off points in the onboarding pipeline and propose experiments to improve conversion and activation rates.
Create executive-level reports that highlight onboarding performance, risks, and recommendations for leadership review.
Champion a client-first mindset by proactively communicating timelines, decisions, and roadblocks to internal and external stakeholders.
Partner with solutions architects to configure wallet structures, settlement rails, and payout schedules based on merchant needs.
Lead post-onboarding reviews to capture lessons learned and integrate feedback into process refinements.
Drive the adoption of new onboarding technologies and best practices across the APAC region to maintain operational excellence.
Requirements
You hold a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a closely related field.
You bring a minimum of eight years of progressive experience in financial services, payments, or fintech onboarding roles.
You have demonstrated success managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects in a regulated environment.
You are fluent in English and Mandarin, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
You possess a deep understanding of anti-money laundering regulations, know-your-customer frameworks, and compliance best practices.
You have hands-on experience working with payment processors, acquiring banks, or financial infrastructure providers.
You are comfortable navigating ambiguous requirements and making sound decisions with incomplete information.
You exhibit strong analytical skills, using data to drive process improvements and justify operational changes.
You have a proven track record of delivering high-quality customer service in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
You are proficient in productivity tools, including spreadsheets, workflow software, and collaboration platforms.
You have experience leading distributed teams and coordinating across time zones in a global organization.
You demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities without compromising accuracy.
You are comfortable working within a highly regulated industry while advocating for efficient, user-friendly processes.

You are familiar with digital asset or crypto-related compliance considerations and regulatory frameworks.

You hold professional certifications in compliance, risk management, or payments.
Practical notes
This role is based in Hong Kong and requires availability during core business hours across the Asia Pacific region. Occasional travel within the region may be required for stakeholder meetings or industry events. The position is full-time and follows Unlimit's standard employment policies and practices.
