You will leverage data and market insights to refine sourcing strategies and optimize hiring pipelines for both instructional and operational roles. By collaborating deeply with school leaders and cross-functional partners, you translate hiring priorities into targeted outreach and compelling candidate narratives. What you'll do
Develop and execute proactive outreach strategies to build diverse candidate pipelines for instructional, operations, and support roles across Rochester schools.
Establish and nurture relationships with colleges, universities, professional organizations, and community networks to broaden access to high-quality educators and school-based professionals.
Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates, clearly articulating Uncommon Schools' mission, culture, and career pathways from initial inquiry through application.
Review resumes and assess candidate experience and qualifications to ensure alignment with role requirements and school-specific needs.
Advance qualified candidates through each stage of the hiring process while delivering timely, organized, and welcoming communication.
Partner closely with principals, instructional leaders, and operations leads to align recruiting priorities with school goals and staffing timelines.
Collaborate with the Talent Recruitment team to design outreach initiatives, share best practices, and coordinate participation in immersion days and hiring events.
Provide robust recruiting support during periods of high-volume hiring, staff leave, or other business needs to maintain continuity in critical roles.
Track and analyze recruiting metrics to identify pipeline trends, assess source effectiveness, and adjust strategies for continuous improvement.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in recruiting systems and workflows to ensure transparency and support data-driven decision-making.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance candidate experience, and improve efficiency across the full recruiting lifecycle.
Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned, including events, communications, and other Talent Recruitment priorities.
Champion Uncommon's employer brand through targeted outreach, storytelling, and relationship-building with both active and passive candidate communities.
Coordinate logistics for interviews, assessments, and selection activities to create a seamless, candidate-centered experience.
Leverage data and feedback to refine messaging, sourcing channels, and engagement tactics in partnership with school and Talent team stakeholders.
Requirements
You must have 1-2 years of relevant experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, human resources, education, nonprofit, operations, or relationship management.
You must demonstrate a track record of building relationships with diverse stakeholders and delivering exceptional customer service.
You must possess strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and details in a fast-paced environment.
You must have strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort using data to monitor progress and inform decisions.
You must be able to travel to recruiting events, schools, and partner organizations as needed across the region, including evenings and weekends when appropriate.
You must be comfortable working in an in-person environment with a minimum commitment of three days per week at the Rochester office.
You must be able to stand or walk for extended periods during recruiting events and set up recruiting materials without assistance.
You must be able to lift, move, and carry items weighing up to 20-40 pounds when attending career fairs, campus visits, or hiring events.
You must comply with Uncommon Schools' policies and procedures, including those related to employment eligibility, background checks, and onboarding requirements.
You must be able to maintain the confidentiality of candidate, student, and school information at all times.
You must be willing to participate in ongoing training and professional development to support continuous improvement in recruiting practices.
You must meet all physical demands and work environment expectations necessary to perform the essential functions of this role safely and effectively.
Nice to have
A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience recruiting for education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations is advantageous.
Experience partnering with hiring managers or school leaders throughout the recruiting process is valuable.
Experience supporting high-volume recruiting or managing multiple open positions simultaneously is also preferred.
Familiarity with building relationships with colleges, universities, or professional organizations to support recruiting efforts is a plus.

Physical requirements include the ability to stand or walk for extended periods during recruiting events and the ability to set up recruiting materials and carry items weighing up to 20-40 pounds when attending career fairs and hiring events.
Compensation and Benefits: Our people are what make us Uncommon. Our compensation philosophy values equity and fairness while attracting and retaining top talent. The full compensation range for this role is $63,800-$75,100. Typically, new hires who fully meet the qualifications and experience expectations for the role will start near $67,600. Starting compensation below this range reflects candidates with less experience or qualifications. Offers near the top end of the range are reserved for candidates who significantly exceed qualifications, bringing extensive experience and specialized expertise beyond what is listed. Compensation determinations consider relevant experience and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Additionally, because we value internal growth and tenure, current staff members are not subject to salary caps within this range.
