Trawa is actively seeking a Finance Process & Systems Lead to spearhead the evolution of our financial operations. This position is responsible for architecting and driving the implementation of an integrated finance technology stack that supports our ambitious growth trajectory. The role demands a unique blend of strategic vision and hands-on technical execution to overhaul core financial processes. You will be instrumental in transforming how we handle complex energy market data within our financial systems. This is an opportunity to build foundational infrastructure from the ground up in a high-impact environment. What you'll do
- Own the end-to-end definition and execution of Trawa's Finance technology stack strategy, evolving from a fragmented landscape to a unified, modern cloud ERP ecosystem.
- Lead the comprehensive redesign of core Finance processes, including Quote-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and Record-to-Report, embedding scalability and controls by design.
- Drive the automation roadmap for Finance, determining priorities, implementation sequences, and quantifying the expected return on investment for each initiative.
- Own the implementation and go-live of major Finance system changes, working closely with Accounting to ensure technical accuracy and compliance for complex energy transactions.
- Architect and own the Finance data layer and data warehouse, ensuring energy-specific data such as time series, accruals, and portfolio pricing are structured for reliable reporting.
- Establish and enforce data governance and quality standards for Finance master data to create a single source of truth across all systems.
- Translate intricate energy market structures and transaction logics into robust technical requirements and data models for the Finance and Tech teams.
- Spearhead the integration strategy for billing systems and future Finance tools, ensuring seamless data flow and operational efficiency.
- Turn AI and workflow automation pilots into scalable, core infrastructure components that deliver consistent value across Finance operations.
- Define and own key performance indicators such as time to close, using automation and process design to continuously improve financial cycle times.
- Partner deeply with Business Operations, Tech, Data, and other stakeholders to align on data models, system capabilities, and process improvements.
- Own the requirements gathering and specification process for new systems, ensuring solutions address real business needs in the energy sector.
- Establish clear governance frameworks for data and process ownership to maintain integrity as the business scales rapidly.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of implemented systems and processes, identifying further opportunities for enhancement.
- Act as the central point of contact for technology vendors and partners related to Finance system implementations.
- Provide thought leadership and documentation for all Finance processes and systems decisions to ensure organizational alignment.
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in Finance Systems, Finance Processes, or FinOps within fast-growing scale-up environments.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to redesign complex Quote-to-Cash processes involving multiple product logics and diverse data sources.
- Bring hands-on experience with modern cloud ERP implementation, including requirements, design, data migration, and cutover activities.
- Exhibit technical proficiency with SQL and Python, applying these skills directly to solve data and process challenges in live environments.
- Show comfort working with REST APIs, webhooks, and direct data access methods to build integrations and automate workflows.
- Have a documented history of using AI tools and workflow automation platforms to redesign real-world business processes.
- Demonstrate experience in designing and implementing Finance master data management and data warehouse structures.
- Hold a deep understanding of the end-to-end Record-to-Report process and its nuances in complex regulatory settings.
Nice to have
- Experience working with energy, utilities, or commodity trading environments and their specific data challenges.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements specific to energy markets.
- Background in handling time-series data and complex scheduling or contracting models.
Practical notes
- This is a full-time position based in our Berlin HQ.
- The role requires significant travel to Berlin office locations and potentially partner sites as project needs arise.
