IT Engineer, Cashalo
Job description
About the role
At Tilt, we see a side of people that traditional lenders miss. Our mobile-first products and machine learning-powered credit models look beyond credit scores, using over 250 real-time financial signals to recognize real potential. With millions of customers worldwide, we are not just changing how people access financial products - we are creating a new credit system that backs the working, whatever they're working toward. This role is focused on ensuring that the physical and digital infrastructure of our Manila office directly supports that mission. You will be the primary point of contact for all on-site IT operations at Cashalo. The position requires a proactive mindset and a hands-on approach to solving immediate technical issues. You will work within the standards established by Tilt Global IT while adapting solutions to the local environment. Your work will ensure that our teams have the reliable tools they need to serve millions of customers.
Key facts
What you'll do
Keep people moving by onboarding and offboarding laptops, resolving hardware issues such as RAM upgrades and virus removal, and providing first line support so employees are never blocked from their work.
Deploy on the ground by installing and deploying hardware and network assets per Global IT's designs, including racking equipment, connecting cables, and standing up new desks and meeting rooms.
Own local connectivity by troubleshooting office internet issues, managing GSM SIM rotation, and engaging cellular vendors to keep agent operations online without interruption.
Be the escalation point by providing on-call tier 1 support and coordinating local vendors for repairs, deliveries, and site work to resolve issues quickly.
Protect the office by provisioning office security access, monitoring access logs, and flagging anomalies to Global IT to maintain a secure environment.
Support the bigger picture by acting as Global IT's hands and eyes on site, assisting with centrally led projects that require local execution and careful attention to detail.
Maintain detailed records of all local interventions to ensure transparency and enable efficient troubleshooting in future sessions.
Perform routine checks on physical infrastructure to anticipate failures and reduce downtime before issues impact the team.
Collaborate closely with the engineering and people teams to align IT initiatives with broader operational goals.
Adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
Requirements
You have built (and rebuilt) your own PC, run a computer home lab more complex than it needs to be, or gone down a rabbit hole just to understand something, meaning IT was a hobby before it was a job for you.
You are reliable under pressure, treating every malfunction with urgency and maintaining composure when systems are down.
You follow standards and documentation carefully, ensuring every action aligns with Global IT protocols.
You speak up when something on the ground does not match the plan, highlighting discrepancies to prevent larger issues.
You communicate clearly with non-technical colleagues, explaining technical concepts in simple and actionable terms.
You communicate clearly with a remote central team, ensuring that updates and escalations are handled promptly and accurately.
You thrive in fast-paced, lean environments, taking initiative to fix problems before anyone has to ask.
You test changes before applying them and inform people of what you have changed to avoid surprises.
You want to own the whole system, whether it is the printer queue, the Wi-Fi, or the broader network, rather than focusing on a single narrow task.
You are comfortable using standard tools and utilities to diagnose and resolve issues on laptops and network equipment.
You have a strong attention to detail to ensure configurations are applied consistently and securely across all devices.
You are willing to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving tools in the IT landscape.
You have basic knowledge of networking concepts such as IP addressing, routing, and firewall rules.
You can manage multiple tasks at once without losing focus on quality or deadlines.
You respect documentation and use it as a reference for every intervention.
You have done hands-on IT support before, working with laptops, printers, Wi-Fi, and cabling in a real office environment.
You are comfortable coordinating local vendors and holding them to deadlines to ensure timely resolution of issues.
Don't meet every qualification? We care about potential over your past. If you're bringing ambition and drive to what we're building, we want to hear from you.
