Key facts

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using .NET (C#) to power lending products and financial workflows.
• Take ownership of features from initial concept and requirements gathering through to implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and business stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with user needs and business objectives.
• Enhance platform stability, reliability, and monitoring capabilities to ensure a consistent experience for end users.
• Optimize database interactions and queries within SQL Server to improve performance and scalability of data-intensive operations.
• Refine and standardize deployment processes on Azure to enable faster, safer, and more predictable releases.
• Conduct thorough code reviews to uphold engineering best practices and share knowledge across the backend team.
• Mentor junior engineers by providing guidance, feedback, and support to elevate the overall quality of the codebase.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools that can improve the efficiency and resilience of the backend infrastructure.
• Act as a technical lead in discussions, making informed decisions on architecture, trade-offs, and long-term technical strategy.

Requirements

• Demonstrate proven experience building and maintaining production backend systems using .NET (C#) in a professional setting.
• Show a solid understanding of SQL Server, including data modeling, query optimization, indexing strategies, and schema management.
• Bring experience with at least one major public cloud platform such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, with a strong focus on managed services.
• Exhibit proficiency in designing, consuming, and debugging REST APIs to enable seamless communication between services.
• Maintain a product-focused mindset where technical decisions are driven by the need to solve user and business problems.
• Display the ability to work independently and proactively within a fast-paced, lean team that values ownership and results.

Practical notes

• This is a 100% remote position that requires travel 2-4 times per year for company gatherings and meetings.
• The interview process includes a recruiter screen, a hiring manager interview, a technical interview focusing on .NET and Azure (approximately 1.5 hours), and a final leadership conversation.
