Senior Credit Manager, US Card
Job description
About the role
At Tilt, we see a side of people that traditional lenders miss. Our mobile-first products and machine learning-powered credit models look beyond credit scores, using over 250 real-time financial signals to recognize real potential. With millions of customers worldwide, we are not just changing how people access financial products - we are creating a new credit system that backs the working, whatever they're working toward. This Senior Credit Manager, US Card role sits at the heart of that mission, where you will own the strategy and execution of US card client management. You will be responsible for owning the complete lifecycle of card client relationships, ensuring that policies and programs drive sustainable growth and risk-adjusted returns. This position requires a high level of ownership, where you will translate complex data into actionable strategies that directly impact client outcomes and portfolio health. You will act as the primary business owner for the US card line, bridging the gap between data science, product innovation, and credit policy. Ultimately, your work will ensure that the card business meets its financial targets while maintaining the highest standards of risk management and customer success.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Ideate and build new line management programs independently, creating innovative solutions such as over-limit policies, dynamic line increases, and incentive-based credit line adjustments that enhance client value.
- Own the analytical work end-to-end, utilizing SQL and Python to conduct in-depth opportunity sizing, test structuring, and comprehensive results evaluation to inform strategic roadmaps.
- Partner closely with Data Science to identify scenarios where new or enhanced risk models can outperform current methodologies, defining success metrics and driving model implementation.
- Navigate ambiguous and loosely-scoped problem spaces with urgency, transforming vague concepts into concrete, tested programs through independent judgment and decisive action.
- Communicate analysis findings with precision and clarity, crafting decision-ready recommendations that resonate with senior leadership and influence strategic choices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, establishing trust and credibility without relying on formal reporting structures to achieve shared objectives.
- Drive projects forward through every stage of the lifecycle, from initial concept and testing to full-scale rollout, ensuring that implemented solutions deliver measurable business impact.
- Continuously monitor portfolio performance, using insights to refine existing programs and identify new opportunities for growth and risk mitigation in the US card market.
- Serve as the primary business owner for card client management, balancing competing priorities to optimize outcomes for both the business and the customer.
- Leverage AI tools and advanced analytics techniques to enhance analytical capabilities and accelerate the delivery of high-quality insights.
- Collaborate with product teams to integrate credit policies and program logic into product features, ensuring seamless execution and a consistent user experience.
- Lead the development of testing frameworks and success metrics, enabling data-driven decisions and continuous improvement of line management initiatives.
- Translate evolving business needs into analytical requirements, guiding the development of scalable solutions that address current and future challenges.
- Champion a culture of experimentation and learning, using test results to refine hypotheses and drive iterative improvements in program effectiveness.

- Possess an advanced degree, such as a Master's or MBA, which is considered a plus and can enhance your qualifications for this role.
- Bring a minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in credit risk, data analytics, or a related quantitative field, with a strong focus on consumer lending or fintech environments.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in SQL, enabling you to independently write complex queries and extract meaningful insights from large datasets.
- Show competence in Python, using the language to perform data analysis, build scripts, and support model evaluation tasks effectively.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills, capable of diving deep into analytical details while also presenting high-level insights clearly to executive audiences.
- Proven ability to influence outcomes and build trust with senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners without holding direct managerial authority.
- Display strong analytical and problem-solving instincts, with comfort operating in ambiguous and fast-paced environments.
- Have a track record of driving projects forward independently, showing initiative and self-direction in achieving objectives.
- Embrace an action-oriented mindset, preferring to prototype, test, and iterate rather than waiting for fully-defined problem statements.
- Be eager to learn new tools and methods, staying current with emerging trends in credit, lending, and artificial intelligence applications.
