What you'll do

• Lead the electrical design and engineering efforts for various construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers and other engineering disciplines to develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Conduct site visits to assess project progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure adherence to electrical specifications and safety protocols.
• Prepare detailed electrical plans, specifications, and technical documentation for project bids and execution.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services, maintaining project timelines.
• Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and change orders related to electrical systems.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure that all electrical installations meet the required standards and specifications.
• Assist in the preparation of project reports and presentations for stakeholders, providing updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and interns, fostering a culture of learning and professional development within the team.
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering and construction.
• Participate in safety meetings and ensure that all electrical work complies with safety regulations and company policies.
• Support the project closeout process, ensuring that all documentation is complete and that systems are functioning as intended.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical engineering within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar applications.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations, including NEC and local codes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all engineering documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
• Familiarity with project management software and tools is a plus.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
• Experience with renewable energy systems, such as solar or wind energy projects.
• Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) processes and technologies.
• Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within an engineering team.
• Certification in project management (PMP or similar) is advantageous.
