• Oversee the entire preconstruction process, from initial project conception through to the finalization of construction documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in preconstruction or a similar role within the construction industry.
• Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a strong focus on budget and schedule adherence.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse group of professionals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with clients, team members, and external partners.
• Proficiency in construction management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills & tools

The successful candidate will be proficient in various construction management software tools, including but not limited to Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project. The ability to utilize BIM and other advanced technologies will be highly beneficial in streamlining the preconstruction process.

Practical notes

This position is based in Des Moines, Iowa, and requires a full-time commitment. The Preconstruction Director will be expected to travel occasionally to project sites as needed.
