What you'll do

• Lead and manage the electrical estimating team, ensuring that all estimates are completed accurately and within deadlines.
• Develop and implement estimating strategies that align with project requirements and company objectives.
• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates for electrical work.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information and clarify project scope and specifications.
• Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and ensure quality.
• Conduct risk assessments and identify potential challenges in the estimating process, proposing solutions to mitigate risks.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, summarizing estimating activities and outcomes.

• Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and regulations to ensure compliance and competitiveness in estimating practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry.
• Proven track record of successfully managing estimating teams and delivering accurate estimates on time.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards relevant to commercial and industrial projects.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical documents and specifications.
• Proficient in using estimating software and tools, such as Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar applications.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with project management principles and practices is a plus.

Nice to have

• Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar credentials.
• Experience with renewable energy projects or electrical systems in sustainable construction.
• Knowledge of Lean construction principles and practices.
• Previous experience in a leadership role within a construction firm.
