Sales Manager - Buy Side
Job description
About the role
You will own the end-to-end sales motion for the Buy engine, responsible for discovering, qualifying, and closing direct SMB opportunities from first contact to signed volume. You will manage a high-velocity pipeline using CRM and AI-assisted tools to maintain momentum and keep deals moving efficiently. Your role involves explaining the TEM value proposition clearly to non-technical buyers while handling objections and walking away when a deal is not a fit for the customer. You will contribute directly to the Buy engine's goals by putting signed volume on the board and closing deals within your opening weeks. Over your first 12 months, you will sharpen the SMB playbook with front-line feedback and grow your influence across the origination motion. You will feed insights back into product and positioning by sharing what customers ask for and where deals get stuck. Ultimately, you will help make transparent, AI-driven energy transactions the default for SMB buyers by owning the full sales cycle.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Close with pace by owning smaller direct SMB opportunities from first contact to signature, keeping momentum with clear next steps.
- Qualify fast by running discovery calls to understand each customer's site, contract timing and usage, and triaging leads into chase, nurture or drop.
- Sell honestly by explaining the TEM proposition clearly, handling the objections SMBs actually raise, and walking away when a deal isn't right for the customer.
- Keep it clean by maintaining tight CRM hygiene with current notes, accurate stages, and honest reporting so nothing slips and handoffs into onboarding are smooth.
- Work smart by using AI and outreach tooling to cover more pipeline than a traditional rep could, without losing judgement on the calls that matter.
- Feed the loop by sharing what customers are asking for and where deals get stuck, so the proposition keeps improving over time.
- Own the long tail of a fast-growing SMB pipeline, keeping deals moving instead of going stale and ensuring consistent progress.
- Put signed volume on the board that counts directly towards the Buy engine's goals and supports broader commercial targets.
- Grow towards owning bigger slices of the origination motion by expanding your impact across customer segments and deal types.
- Sharpen our SMB playbook with front-line feedback on buyer questions and where deals tend to stick or stall.
