Taskrabbit is seeking a Metro Specialist dedicated to suburban growth to help extend its service marketplace into underserved suburban communities. This position is based in New York and centers on building strategies that bring Taskrabbit's platform of local service providers to residents in suburban areas surrounding major metropolitan regions. The specialist will take ownership of identifying new suburban markets, assessing demand, and developing go-to-market plans that drive sustainable growth for the platform. Working across multiple teams, this role requires a blend of analytical thinking, market intuition, and strong communication skills to translate suburban opportunity into actionable expansion plans and support Taskrabbit's broader mission of serving every community.

What you'll do
- Design and implement market expansion strategies focused on bringing Taskrabbit services to suburban communities near major metropolitan areas.
- Study demographic trends and consumer behavior data to pinpoint suburban neighborhoods with the highest potential for platform adoption and growth.
- Recruit and onboard local service providers who can meet the growing demand for home services in suburban markets and neighborhoods.
- Coordinate with marketing colleagues to develop campaigns that introduce Taskrabbit to suburban residents and build lasting brand awareness over time.
- Track suburban market performance metrics and prepare regular reports for leadership on growth progress and areas that need improvement.
- Partner with operations and support teams to ensure service quality standards are maintained as new suburban markets are launched and scaled.
- Research competitors and other service platforms to understand their approaches to reaching suburban customers and expanding their provider networks.
- Build detailed market entry plans that include timelines, resource requirements, and projected outcomes for each target suburban region and territory.

Requirements
- A bachelor degree or equivalent hands-on experience in a field related to business, economics, or urban development and planning.
- A minimum of three years of professional experience in market strategy, business development, or geographic expansion roles in a company.
- A proven record of successfully launching services or products in new geographic areas, especially suburban or underserved regions and markets.
- Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to interpret market research, consumer data, and competitive landscape information for decision making.
- Clear and effective communication skills for presenting strategic recommendations to both internal teams and external partners and stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel periodically to suburban locations for on-site research, provider meetings, and community engagement and relationship building.
- A self-motivated approach to work with the ability to manage several suburban market initiatives at the same time and meet deadlines.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to adapt strategies as new suburban market conditions emerge and evolve over time.
