Solution Engineering aligns sales, customer success, and field engineering to advance technology evaluation and close enterprise deals. The role engages current and potential customers through discovery, demonstrations, and proof of value while positioning Tanium as an operations and security platform for executives and technical users.
Software engineers turn product ideas into working code. Engineers work in small teams, review each other's work, and ship in small batches. Most teams follow agile practices such as sprints and daily standups. Engineers also write tests, fix bugs, and improve performance. The field values clear communication as much as technical skill. Engineers spend part of every week on planning, code review, and debugging, not just writing new code. The ability to explain a technical decision in plain words separates strong engineers from the rest.

Requirements
4+ years of operational and/or selling experience in endpoint operations or security.
2+ years of experience in customer-facing or customer support roles.
Significant software pre-sales or value-based technical selling experience in very large enterprise environments.
Ability to present at multiple levels, from VP level to solution users.
A track record of owning complex initiatives and producing successful outcomes.
Broad knowledge of IT security, operations, and compliance domains and products.
Hands-on experience with endpoint security, IT operations management, or regulatory compliance.
Understanding of scripting languages is a plus.
Critical thinking, written, and verbal communication skills are demonstrated.
A team-first attitude aligned with mission-first work is shown.
A BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
