About the role
The owns the end to end development and execution of health system partnerships within a designated Northeast territory, functioning as an independent hunter rather than a portfolio manager. This role is defined by relationship driven business development that focuses on opening doors, building executive trust, and creating seamless referral pathways from the ground up. The hire will leverage deep clinical and operational insight to speak credibly with system leaders, navigating complex organizational dynamics with high emotional intelligence and persistent curiosity. Success is measured by the ability to rapidly build a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities, secure meaningful behavioral health partnerships, and establish Talkiatry as a trusted strategic ally across the territory. The individual will combine prospecting discipline with strategic networking to identify, prioritize, and launch partnerships that deliver measurable value for both patients and partner organizations. This leader will articulate industry trends, referral workflows, and healthcare economics to differentiate Talkiatry as a mission driven growth partner. Ultimately, the Strategic Partnerships Director will translate market intelligence and relationship capital into scalable behavioral health collaborations that expand access to high quality psychiatric care.

What you'll do
- Develop and execute a territory strategy to identify, prioritize, and secure new health system partnerships, leveraging existing executive relationships while building new ones with key clinical and operational leaders.
- Own the full partnership lifecycle from prospecting and relationship development through discovery, executive presentations, negotiation, and successful launch, with accountability for delivering partnership and growth goals.
- Leverage existing relationships while building new executive connections with physician leaders, behavioral health executives, referral management teams, population health leaders, and C suite stakeholders to create long term strategic partnerships.
- Navigate complex health system organizations by building consensus across multiple stakeholders, understanding organizational dynamics, and aligning Talkiatry value with each system clinical and strategic priorities.
- Maintain deep knowledge of the health system landscape within your territory, including executive movement, strategic priorities, competitive dynamics, and emerging partnership opportunities, using those insights to shape territory strategy.
- Develop and execute a systematic approach to territory planning, prospecting, account prioritization, and pipeline management that consistently creates new partnership opportunities.
- Represent Talkiatry as a behavioral health thought partner by articulating industry trends, healthcare economics, referral workflows, and Talkiatry value in improving access, quality, and patient outcomes.
- Partner cross functionally with Clinical, Operations, Legal, Product, and Executive Leadership to design, structure, and launch successful partnerships while independently driving opportunities forward and removing obstacles to execution.
- Represent Talkiatry at industry conferences, executive forums, and professional networks to strengthen market presence, expand strategic relationships, and generate new partnership inquiries within the Northeast territory.
- Conduct rigorous discovery and needs assessment conversations to uncover pain points, quantify value, and translate them into tailored partnership proposals that resonate with system leadership.
- Build and manage a robust, quantifiable pipeline of qualified health system opportunities, forecasting outcomes and milestones to ensure predictable progress.
- Serve as the primary internal advocate for partnership opportunities, coordinating responses to security questionnaires, pricing discussions, and operational requirements to accelerate deal closure.
Requirements
Candidates must have a proven track record of independently driving opportunities from initial outreach through successful launch, demonstrating self directed execution and follow through. An established network of health system executives and physician leaders is required, along with a history of developing partnerships and managing complex stakeholder ecosystems. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, is comfortable navigating ambiguity, and brings disciplined territory planning and pipeline management practices to the role. You must be fluent in discussing clinical operations, referral workflows, and the unique challenges facing health systems, using that insight to build credibility and trust with executive audiences. Demonstrated experience in healthcare business development, partnership management, or a related field is essential, as is the ability to balance strategic vision with hands on execution. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to articulate value, negotiate terms, and maintain professionalism across all interactions. Candidates must be fully vaccinated and willing to comply with Talkiatry policies that may change over time, including background checks and credentialing processes required for remote work in this role. Reliable high speed internet and a dedicated workspace are required to support effective collaboration and secure handling of confidential information. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the country where the role is performed without requiring sponsorship at this time, and they must be able to meet the standard working hours and availability expectations for full time positions.
Nice to have
Preferred candidates will bring prior experience in psychiatry, mental health, or behavioral health partnerships, understanding of in network models and payer dynamics, and familiarity with technology enabled care delivery. Experience with ambulatory care integration, population health strategies, and health system enterprise structures will be viewed favorably.
