About the role
You are responsible for owning the end to end marketing operations strategy and execution alongside our global marketing leadership team at Sword. This role is centered on building and scaling the marketing machinery that allows our brand, demand generation, and product teams to operate at maximum efficiency and impact. You will architect the systems, processes, and data structures that make modern marketing campaigns possible while ensuring rigorous governance and measurable outcomes. A core part of this position is translating high level commercial objectives into actionable marketing operations programs that drive predictable growth. You will partner deeply with sales, product, and clinical teams to align messaging, track performance, and optimize the member and customer journey. This role demands comfort with ambiguity, a bias for building, and the ability to lead complex initiatives across distributed teams. You will be the operational backbone of our marketing engine, ensuring every campaign, launch, and program is measurable, scalable, and aligned with our mission to heal billions.

What you'll do
Architect and own the marketing technology stack, defining tool selection, integration architecture, and data flows that connect our CRM, content, advertising, and analytics platforms.
Design and implement lead to cash processes that span marketing qualified opportunities, sales acceptance, and customer onboarding, creating a seamless journey from first touch to expansion.
Develop and enforce data governance standards, including naming conventions, field definitions, contact hierarchies, and deduplication rules that ensure reliable reporting and segmentation.
Build and optimize marketing dashboards and reporting frameworks, translating raw campaign data into insights that drive decisions on budget allocation, creative testing, and channel strategy.
Lead cross functional program management for enterprise campaigns, coordinating stakeholders, timelines, and dependencies to deliver complex initiatives on schedule and on brand.
Define and maintain playbooks for marketing automation journeys, including lifecycle, nurture, and re engagement flows that scale personalized communication at volume.
Partner with product and clinical teams to translate clinical outcomes and member feedback into structured feedback loops that inform targeting, positioning, and content creation.
Establish operational cadences, such as weekly performance reviews, campaign postmortems, and quarterly business reviews, to ensure continuous optimization of marketing execution.
Implement robust compliance and privacy frameworks for marketing data, ensuring that campaigns adhere to regional regulations and internal risk policies across all operating markets.
Create scenario models and forecasts that link marketing activities to pipeline and revenue, enabling leadership to understand the financial impact of marketing investments.
Own the planning and execution of major brand and product launches, coordinating creative, media, partnerships, and events through a centralized operations workflow.
Define and manage the customer data infrastructure, ensuring identity resolution, lifecycle staging, and attribution models reflect the realities of our multi product portfolio.
Champion experimentation by setting up test and learn frameworks, documenting results, and scaling successful approaches across channels and markets.
Lead the selection and evaluation of external agencies and partners, aligning deliverables, timelines, and performance expectations with our operational standards.
Requirements
You have a Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
You bring a minimum of eight years of progressive experience in marketing operations, demand generation, or a related discipline within a high growth, technology driven environment.
You have deep expertise with marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and data analytics tools, with a proven track record of integrating these systems at scale.
You are fluent in SQL or a comparable query language and comfortable working with large data sets to extract insights and automate reporting.
You have managed enterprise level campaign execution and can demonstrate success coordinating multiple channels, teams, and regions simultaneously.
You possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data sets into clear narratives and actionable recommendations for leadership.
You have experience building and maintaining marketing dashboards, KPIs, and performance frameworks that inform strategic decisions.
You are comfortable working in a fast paced, mission driven environment where priorities evolve quickly and agility is essential.
Nice to have
Experience in the healthcare, mental health, or physical therapy sectors is preferred, given the regulated and mission critical nature of our products.
Background in enterprise software sales operations or alignment with sales and finance teams on forecasting and pipeline integrity.
Familiarity with compliance and privacy regulations relevant to marketing in digital health environments.
Practical notes
Work is remote friendly with an expectation to work core hours within the Europe/Lisbon time zone.
This role is based in Porto, Portugal, and is eligible for relocation support in accordance with company policy.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Portugal without sponsorship.
Periodic travel may be required for team offsites, partner meetings, and industry events.
