About the role
This role owns the comprehensive oversight of fabrication materials management within the RHFS network, driving strategic inventory control and purchasing excellence. The hire will proactively monitor trend data and manage vendor relations to support total cost management and supplier performance. They will generate and manage purchase orders while initiating operational solutions that speed cycle time and quality delivery for customers. In addition, this specialist will provide input to support the company's strategic growth planning process for the Fabrication Key Product Group. The role requires reconciling Accounts Payable and Purchase Order reports to ensure accuracy and championing the development of strategic suppliers and partners. The hire will also communicate with sales on order entry validity and work order status to meet customer expectations. Ultimately, this position sets metrics to support management policies for optimal inventory and service level strategies.

What you'll do
- Orchestrate expansive RHFS fabrication inventory management through meticulous review of stock levels against actual material movement and overall inventory costs for management review.
- Establish stock levels and replenishment criteria based on comprehensive analysis of item performance and trend data.
- Proactively monitor trend data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in inventory reduction while managing vendor relations and providing timely feedback to sales and management.
- Generate and manage purchase orders for fabrication branches with precision and timeliness.
- Initiate operational solutions designed to speed cycle time and enhance quality delivery for customers across the network.
- Analyze reports, measurements, and external benchmarks to identify strategies for inventory reduction and carrying cost optimization.
- Maintain shop supply inventory for all fabrication locations, ensuring overhead materials are consistently available.
- Communicate with sales teams regarding order entry validity, work order status, possible delays, completion dates, and delivery, offering substitute product solutions when necessary.
- Reconcile Accounts Payable and Purchase Order reports meticulously to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Champion the development of strategic suppliers and partners by researching and qualifying vendors to support RHFS's global business goals.
- Manage the holistic flow and positioning of inventory across multiple supply chain stages, including suppliers and downstream partners, to ensure on-time delivery and accurate stock levels.
- Set metrics that support management policies surrounding sales and vendor decisions to achieve optimal inventory and service level strategies.
Requirements
- College degree in business (MBA preferred) and/or 5+ years working experience in a logistics environment with extensive experience in pricing, purchasing, inventory control, and material planning.
- Product, plastics, or metals industry knowledge is considered a plus for this role.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency is required to perform essential duties and responsibilities.
- Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, communication, negotiating, and networking skills are mandatory for success in this position.
- A team attitude is essential, with eagerness to cooperate with others and exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
- The ability to change direction and handle multiple situations and responsibilities on a regular basis is a core requirement.
