About the role
Stripe is seeking a domain expert to drive the growth of our Money Management suite across the APAC and Greater China regions. You will act as the primary technical advisor for complex embedded finance deals, guiding customers through the integration of our financial infrastructure. In this capacity, you will own the end-to-end technical narrative for strategic deals, ensuring that our solutions align with customer business objectives. You will translate complex product capabilities into clear value propositions that resonate with executive and technical stakeholders. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying new use cases where our stack can solve critical payment and financial management challenges. You will be responsible for maintaining a high level of credibility with both customer technical teams and executive sponsors. Success in this position will be measured by your ability to de-risk adoption and accelerate time-to-value for our most strategic partners.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Stripe Capital, Issuing, Financial Accounts, and global Payouts, articulating how each component supports sophisticated financial workflows.
- Consult with clients on building embedded finance features such as card programs, lending, and global fund movement, ensuring that technical designs meet business and regulatory expectations.
- Partner with product sales teams to manage strategy and relationships for high-value opportunities, aligning commercial goals with technical feasibility.
- Advise internal product and engineering teams on roadmap priorities based on market trends and customer feedback, helping to shape future capabilities.
- Develop reference architectures and reusable assets to improve the efficiency of the broader go-to-market organization, creating scalable blueprints for common use cases.
- Navigate complex compliance landscapes, including KYC/KYB, BSA/AML, and card network regulations, ensuring that proposed solutions adhere to local and international rules.
- Represent Stripe at industry events, executive briefings, and conferences, showcasing thought leadership and deepening stakeholder understanding of our platform.
- Conduct discovery sessions with prospective and existing customers to uncover pain points and validate how our solutions can address specific financial workflows.
- Collaborate with implementation and professional services teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing operations for complex deployments.
- Evaluate technical risks and dependencies for new opportunities, documenting mitigation strategies and required resources.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of customer product usage to identify expansion opportunities and advocate for tailored solutions.
- Facilitate technical workshops and proof-of-concept exercises, demonstrating the power and flexibility of Stripe's Money Management suite.
- Synthesize feedback from the field into actionable insights for engineering and product teams, helping to close the loop between customers and builders.
- Mentor junior team members and partners on best practices for selling and implementing embedded finance solutions.
Requirements
- 7+ years of technical sales experience, preferably in fintech, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
- 3+ years of product experience specifically with embedded finance, such as treasury management, lending, or card issuing, showing a deep familiarity with these product categories.
- Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin to support stakeholders in Greater China, including the ability to communicate technical details with precision and nuance.
- Demonstrated experience integrating RESTful APIs into web applications, with a clear understanding of request-response cycles, authentication patterns, and error handling.
- Ability to explain intricate technical concepts to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders, using structured narratives and relatable analogies.
- Proven track record of building collaborative relationships with business partners, working effectively across functions and organizations.
- Capacity to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, making timely decisions with incomplete information.
- Willingness to travel regionally to meet with customers and attend industry events, supporting relationship-building and product education.
Nice to have
- Background in software engineering or systems design for financial applications, providing credibility when discussing implementation details.
- Deep understanding of compliance frameworks like money transmission licensing, showing awareness of the regulatory constraints that shape product design.
- Experience scaling go-to-market teams, indicating familiarity with building processes and playbooks that support growth.
Practical notes
This role requires the ability to work directly with Mandarin-speaking partners and clients in the Greater China region, necessitating consistent use of both English and Mandarin in day-to-day activities.
