What you'll do

• Conduct thorough financial analysis of cryptocurrency transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare and maintain detailed records of all crypto-related financial activities, including acquisitions, sales, and valuations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement accounting policies and procedures specific to cryptocurrency operations.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports related to digital assets.
• Monitor changes in regulations and accounting standards affecting cryptocurrency to ensure compliance and best practices.
• Support the audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations for crypto-related financial activities.
• Develop and maintain financial models to forecast the impact of cryptocurrency transactions on overall financial performance.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of crypto accounting practices.
• Work closely with the tax team to ensure accurate reporting of cryptocurrency transactions for tax purposes.
• Provide training and support to other team members regarding cryptocurrency accounting practices and tools.
• Assist in the integration of new accounting software or tools that facilitate better tracking and reporting of digital assets.
• Stay informed about industry trends and developments in cryptocurrency to provide insights and recommendations to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on digital assets or cryptocurrency preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly as they relate to cryptocurrencies.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools; experience with crypto-specific platforms is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex financial information.
• Experience with financial reporting and compliance in a regulated environment.
• Familiarity with tax implications and regulations surrounding cryptocurrency transactions.

Nice to have

• CPA or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in a fintech or cryptocurrency company is a plus.
• Knowledge of blockchain technology and its impact on accounting practices.
• Experience with data analysis tools and financial modeling software.
• Understanding of international accounting standards as they relate to cryptocurrency.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools for financial analysis.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of cryptocurrency wallets and exchanges, as well as blockchain technology.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with data visualization tools to present financial data effectively.
