About the role
SoFi Bank N.A. is seeking a Recovery Operations Senior Analyst to join our team in San Francisco, California. In this capacity, you will be responsible for owning and optimizing the end-to-end recovery process. This role requires collaboration with the Center of Excellence (CCoE) Operations Risk team to design, implement, and maintain a robust control framework. You will be instrumental in developing systems that provide clear visibility into portfolio risk and ensuring the effectiveness of our recovery strategies. The successful candidate will lead the development of control infrastructure for recovery operations across multiple business streams. A key focus will be partnering with risk control teams to establish new procedures and update existing policies, ensuring alignment with SoFi's risk management framework. You will be tasked with identifying procedural gaps and opportunities to strengthen risk management within the recovery lifecycle.

What you'll do
- Architect and refine the end-to-end recovery control infrastructure across diverse lending streams to ensure operational integrity.
- Partner with risk control teams to create new procedures and revise existing policies, aligning precisely with SoFi's risk management framework.
- Identify procedural gaps and spearhead initiatives to fortify risk management throughout the entire recovery lifecycle.
- Construct and sustain comprehensive monitoring and reporting capabilities to track recovery performance across all lending segments.
- Lead the monthly review of portfolio trends, control reporting, and engineering progress, providing clear oversight to senior stakeholders.
- Execute operational oversight of recovery vendors, which includes managing staffing discussions, conducting performance reviews, performing operational due diligence, and executing annual on-site audits to verify compliance with contractual agreements.
- Manage the intake procedures for recovery activities, coordinating the shipping of materials as required to maintain operational flow.
- Draft and monitor dashboards that offer a clear view of recovery metrics and performance indicators to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure strict compliance with settlement break parameters and timelines while coordinating settlement arrangements to mitigate risk exposure.
- Partner with technical teams to drive automation initiatives, utilizing scripting and process automation to reduce manual effort and improve workflow efficiency.
- Analyze complex recovery datasets using database querying languages and business intelligence platforms to uncover actionable insights.
- Leverage proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as VBA and automation tools like Alteryx to enhance recovery processes.
Requirements
- Hold a Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Information Technology, Analytics, or Operations Research.
- Possess a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in a comparable role within the financial sector.
- Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in data analysis and business forecasting specific to recovery scenarios and credit risk environments.
- Exhibit hands-on experience using database querying languages to manipulate large datasets and extract critical information.
- Show expertise in business intelligence platforms, particularly Tableau, to visualize complex data and communicate findings effectively.
- Display proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as VBA to automate repetitive tasks and improve accuracy.
- Demonstrate mastery of automation tools like Alteryx to streamline data preparation and analytical workflows.
- Possess excellent executive communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present complex findings to leadership.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in reporting, compliance, and operational controls.
