About the role
SoFi seeks an Operations Control Analyst
SMB to support the Vendor Relationship Manager in maintaining the operational integrity and regulatory compliance of third-party vendors within the Small Business Lending unit. The role focuses on executing the control framework and ensuring vendor activities across the entire SMB lifecycle align with SoFi's internal policies and external regulatory requirements. You will partner directly with cross-functional stakeholders to monitor, test, and assess vendor performance using data-driven methodologies. This position is integral to supporting audit readiness, regulatory exams, and the implementation of corrective actions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in operations or lending operations with a FinTech or banking background. You will own the execution of control testing and play a key role in mitigating vendor risk across customer acquisition, servicing, and collections.

What you'll do
- Execute consistent monitoring and rigorous testing of vendor processes to ensure all workflows are thoroughly documented, testable, and capable of supporting long-term operational resilience.
- Assess vendor risk across customer acquisition and servicing activities in close collaboration with the Vendor Manager and the Operations Exam & Control Support Manager to ensure alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze vendor-level performance metrics using advanced Excel or Google Sheets functions to proactively identify operational friction, failure points, and critical control gaps.
- Support the maintenance of the vendor governance model by updating performance scorecards, tracking established escalation pathways, and preparing comprehensive data for formal performance reviews.
- Prepare for audits and regulatory exams while supporting the completion of Corrective Action Plan (CAP) remediation projects to ensure compliance standards are consistently met.
- Partner with the Vendor Manager
- SMB to ensure that all third-party operations remain strictly aligned with the evolving business strategy and internal operational controls.
- Drive process integrity and resilience through structured testing and documentation of vendor workflows to build a robust control environment.
- Provide clear and data-backed insights that inform decision-making and risk management within the Small Business Lending unit.
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Hold at least 3+ years of experience in operations, program management, or lending operations, with a FinTech or banking background strongly preferred.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills essential for effective collaboration across horizontal teams and stakeholders.
- Exhibit technical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis and PowerPoint or Google Slides for management-level reporting.
- Show analytical rigor with a strong ability to translate complex performance metrics into actionable business insights and risk assessments.
- Maintain effective communication abilities to interface with internal teams and external partners in a professional manner.
- Have a proven track record of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Be comfortable working within a regulated financial services environment and understanding the importance of compliance and control ownership.
