About the Role
You will own the end-to-end consultative process for new build homes, acting as the primary energy advisor to both the homeowner and the builder partner. This role requires you to take full ownership of designing energy strategies that seamlessly integrate larger solar systems, battery storage, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. You will be the trusted expert who ensures these technologies translate into tangible, long-term savings and peace of mind for the resident. Success in this position means you are building lasting relationships that foster partner confidence and drive sustainable business growth for the future. You must listen actively to align technology with specific lifestyle requirements, ensuring the final plan feels personal and intuitive rather than generic. This position demands a consultative mindset where your judgment guides clients from initial contact to a finalized, actionable energy roadmap. Ultimately, you own the narrative of sustainable value, turning complex technical concepts into clear benefits that resonate with homeowners during a significant life event.
Key facts
What you'll do
Analyze the architectural plans of a new build residence to translate design features into a comprehensive energy strategy that optimizes daily household routines. Assess the specific usage patterns of a family to determine the optimal size and configuration for solar generation, battery storage, and electric vehicle charging points. Evaluate customer ambitions against the physical limitations of the property, including roof orientation, available space, and strict grid connection regulations. Develop tailored solutions that prioritize lifestyle goals, such as maximizing self-consumption of solar energy or ensuring resilience for critical home circuits during outages. Create clear, professional documentation and visual aids that assist builders in explaining complex technical choices during site inspections and final handovers to the homeowner. Coordinate intricate schedules with builders and other tradespeople to ensure all electrical work, inspections, and regulatory approvals occur seamlessly within the construction timeline. Evaluate the trade-offs between upfront capital investment and the long-term financial returns and environmental benefits for each unique household scenario. Provide strategic insights to marketing and sales teams to refine future campaigns and improve the presentation of energy package offers to new buyers. Guide clients through a consultative journey, building trust and ensuring they understand the technology choices that will impact their home for decades. Serve as the central technical resource for the builder partnership, ensuring that energy considerations are integrated smoothly into the broader construction process without delays.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must possess a proven track record in customer-focused energy advisory positions where sound judgment is essential. You are required to have a thorough understanding of how large-scale solar systems, battery storage, and electric vehicle chargers interact within a residential setting. It is essential that you can explain these complex technical relationships clearly to audiences with no technical background or prior knowledge of energy systems. You must exhibit a strong comfort level within a defined sales process while maintaining a consistently calm, professional, and consultative demeanor under pressure. Current residency in or near the city of Melbourne is mandatory to facilitate efficient travel to construction sites and seamless collaboration with internal partner teams. You must be able to commit to the full-time schedule and travel requirements as outlined in the practical notes of this position.
