About the role
You will own the end-to-end energy industry go-to-market strategy and execution for the AMER region, translating the Databricks data and AI platform vision into a compelling narrative for the largest energy enterprises. You will act as the primary strategic advisor to C-suite leaders at oil and gas, power and utilities, renewables, and mining organizations, guiding them through complex digital transformation initiatives. Day-to-day, you will orchestrate cross-functional collaboration to ensure our GTM motions are cohesive, data-driven, and aligned with customer business outcomes. You will define and own the strategic narrative for how data and AI fundamentally redefines energy system design and operations to support long-term economic growth. This role requires you to build and sustain deep, trust-based relationships with executive sponsors, influencing without direct authority in a highly matrixed environment. You will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and capturing high-value opportunities that emerge from rigorous market and customer analysis. Ultimately, you will be the external-facing embodiment of Databricks' energy expertise, ensuring our solutions are positioned as mission-critical for future-ready energy organizations.

Define and own the strategic direction for Databricks' energy industry GTM motion across the AMER region, encompassing oil and gas, power and utilities, renewables, and mining sectors.
Lead executive-level visioning sessions with CEOs and C-suite leaders at the world's largest energy companies, advising them on strategic adoption of data and AI for transformative business impact.
Develop and execute comprehensive GTM strategies that convert identified market opportunity into measurable pipeline growth and accelerated customer adoption.
Cultivate and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and industry influencers across the AMER region to champion Databricks' value proposition.
Drive the development and delivery of industry-specific GTM programs, ensuring alignment and integration with AMER sales, field engineering, marketing, and product teams.
Analyze and interpret complex market trends, competitive dynamics, and evolving customer needs to continuously refine the energy industry strategy and uncover high-value opportunities.
Establish Databricks as the definitive thought leader in energy through authored publications, keynote speaking at major industry conferences, and executive briefings that highlight data and AI innovation.
Define, track, and report on a comprehensive set of key performance indicators (KPIs) for all GTM initiatives, using data-driven insights to optimize plans and resource allocation.
Travel regularly to engage with customers, participate in strategic advisory boards, and represent Databricks at premier industry events and forums across the AMER region.
Partner closely with field engineering and product teams to provide critical customer feedback, ensuring our platform capabilities evolve in direct response to real-world energy sector challenges.
Champion the adoption of modern data and AI frameworks within customer organizations, demonstrating clear pathways to operational efficiency and competitive advantage.
Leverage deep domain expertise to identify adjacent opportunity areas and new use cases for Databricks within the broader energy ecosystem.
Serve as a critical bridge between commercial objectives and technical implementation, ensuring GTM strategies are both aspirational and executable.
Consistently communicate the strategic and financial value of Databricks solutions to executive audiences using compelling business narratives grounded in data and AI outcomes.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification is strongly preferred.
Bring a minimum of 10 years of cumulative leadership experience within the energy sector, demonstrating increasing responsibility over strategic direction and commercial outcomes.
Include at least 5 years of proven experience in GTM, strategy, or business development roles within either strategic consulting (with a preference for ex-MBB backgrounds) or product-led technology companies.
Demonstrate a clear history of successfully taking complex technology products or platforms to market, with a defined industry focus and a track record of achieving measurable commercial results.
Possess expert-level domain knowledge in one or more of the following critical areas: subsurface intelligence, industrial AI, energy and commodity trading, and grid resilience and modernization.
Showcase a strong understanding of the modern data and AI technology landscape and its practical application across every facet of the energy value chain.
Have familiarity with relevant industry standards bodies, regulatory frameworks, and key industry initiatives that shape the energy landscape in AMER.
Exhibit exceptional influence and leadership capabilities in cross-functional, matrixed environments where formal authority is limited but collaboration is essential.
Maintain a proven ability to build and sustain trusted relationships with senior executive leadership across multiple organizational levels.
Communicate with exceptional clarity, both in written and verbal formats, translating intricate technical and data concepts into persuasive business narratives for C-suite decision-makers.
