About the Role
You will build and lead a team of Account Directors focused on strategic growth within the energy sector. Your primary ownership is defining and executing the go-to-market strategy for utilities, oil and gas, renewables, power generation, and energy services. You will partner with complex organizations that are modernizing operations, improving reliability, accelerating the energy transition, and adopting enterprise AI responsibly at scale. You will navigate regulated enterprise sales cycles while deepening relationships with business, technology, operations, engineering, security, and risk leaders. Your core mission is to drive adoption of OpenAI's platform across safety-conscious, asset-intensive organizations. You will provide structured feedback on customer requirements, integration blockers, reliability, and governance needs.

What you'll do
Build and lead a high-performing team of Energy Account Directors focused on strategic enterprise growth.
Create a strong coaching culture through deal reviews, account strategy sessions, ride-alongs, and structured one-on-one development.
Define the Energy go-to-market strategy, including subsector segmentation, account prioritization, partner strategy, executive engagement, and territory planning.
Drive disciplined pipeline generation, forecast accuracy, and operational rigor across the energy portfolio.
Guide multi-stakeholder opportunities involving operations, engineering, digital, data, security, legal, risk, procurement, and executive leadership.
Help customers translate AI and API capabilities into measurable outcomes across asset and field operations, grid and generation planning, engineering knowledge, customer service, commercial workflows, and enterprise productivity.
Partner with Product, Solutions Architecture, Technical Success, Legal, Security, Finance, and policy experts to support responsible deployment and adoption.
Provide structured feedback on customer requirements, integration blockers, reliability and governance needs, and emerging industry trends specific to energy markets.
Develop and maintain deep expertise in regulated, asset-intensive operating environments and sophisticated buying processes.
Champion the evolution of new GTM motions and scale adoption beyond early pilot phases into enterprise-wide deployment.
Requirements
Bring 15 or more years of enterprise sales, GTM, or sales leadership experience to this role.
Demonstrate a proven ability to build and scale enterprise sales teams responsible for complex strategic accounts and large revenue targets.
Show a deep understanding of the Energy sector and how large organizations evaluate and adopt emerging platforms.
Have experience leading consultative platform sales involving executive, operational, engineering, digital, security, risk, and procurement stakeholders.
Maintain strong operating rigor across forecasting, pipeline health, territory planning, and performance management.
Exhibit executive presence and a low-ego, culture-first leadership style that elevates the entire team.
Possess proven leadership of enterprise sales teams focused on large strategic Energy accounts in complex environments.
Show a strong understanding of regulated, asset-intensive operating environments and sophisticated buying processes.
Demonstrate a track record of building new GTM motions and scaling beyond early adoption to mature execution.
Show technical fluency across APIs, data platforms, cloud architecture, AI/ML concepts, and Energy integration patterns.
Demonstrate the ability to coach senior sellers through complex, multi-threaded opportunities involving many stakeholders.
Maintain a low-ego, highly collaborative leadership style that fosters cross-functional partnership.
Nice to have
Bring experience selling platform, cloud, data, infrastructure, or consumption-based solutions into Energy customers.
Show a history of influencing product roadmap, pricing, packaging, partner motions, or enterprise commercial structures.
Have experience with utilities, oil and gas, renewables, power generation, or energy services undergoing digital and operational transformation.
Possess public-company operating experience with rigorous forecasting and accountability.
Show exposure to AI, industrial software, infrastructure technology, or other emerging categories.
Have experience across both high-growth technology companies and scaled Energy or industrial organizations.
Show familiarity with asset reliability, field productivity, grid modernization, engineering knowledge, customer operations, decarbonization, and AI governance.
