About the role
In this position, you will take charge of managing Automatic Equipment and Automation projects from the initial lead stage through to installation. You will play a crucial role in supporting various teams, including sales, engineering, and production, throughout the manufacturing process. This role will focus on equipment projects at the PL2 level, ensuring that all aspects of the project are handled efficiently and effectively.

What you'll do
- Collaborate on proposals, pricing strategies, and equipment layouts, providing essential documentation such as layout drawings, models, electrical schematics, and manuals to clients as needed.
- Conduct thorough surveys on equipment to determine requirements for both the customer and production teams.
- Identify any non-standard items during surveys and liaise with relevant departments (Engineering, Development, Product Management, Supply Chain) to clarify and resolve any issues.
- Leverage your automation expertise to work with segment specialists, ensuring the best equipment solutions are provided for specific applications.
- Coordinate with various departments to navigate challenges that arise during the Engineering and Manufacturing phases.
- Keep customers informed with up-to-date information, including offloading specifications for equipment, IP addresses, OEM connectivity changes, and relevant drawings.
- Organize kickoff meetings, customer discussions, and pre-installation documentation to ensure smooth project execution.
- Document any installation or performance issues encountered to enhance future project outcomes.
- Support project team responsibilities as required, contributing to the overall success of the team.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment manufacturing engineering and automation is essential, with a strong background in engineering proposals and project management.
- Proficiency in developing integrated 2-D layouts, 3-D modeling, and simulations or animations is necessary.
- A solid understanding of electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulics is expected.
- Familiarity with line automation, palletizing, and end-of-line equipment is advantageous.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, are required.
- Experience with CRM and CAD systems, including the ability to create engineering layouts, is essential; familiarity with D365 CRM, AutoDesk Inventor, and SolidWorks is a plus.

Practical notes
- The annual salary for this role ranges from $80,000 to $110,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and specific responsibilities.
