About the role
Sigma is constructing the fundamental execution layer for enterprise artificial intelligence. The Director of Product Marketing, AI will own the complete market narrative for Sigma's AI Runtime Environment, ensuring the story resonates across technical and executive stakeholders. You will establish the definitive positioning and category definition for how enterprises deploy and govern AI agents. This role demands fluency in the rapidly evolving AI infrastructure stack and the ability to translate complex technical capabilities into clear strategic value. You will spearhead go-to-market initiatives that directly influence product direction and sales outcomes. The position requires shaping thought leadership that educates the market on responsible AI execution within data-rich enterprises. You will act as a critical bridge between product vision and customer understanding, driving adoption at scale. Define the core value proposition and competitive differentiation for Sigma's AI Runtime Environment, articulating why it matters now for enterprise data teams.
Partner with Product Management and Engineering to uncover AI use cases and translate technical roadmaps into compelling market narratives that drive demand.
Lead end-to-end product launches for new AI capabilities, orchestrating alignment across marketing, sales, customer success, and partnerships to ensure cohesive execution.
Analyze AI deal dynamics, competitive positioning, and field feedback to refine messaging, sales playbooks, and objection-handling frameworks.
Develop and maintain sales enablement assets such as pitch decks, battlecards, technical demos, and ROI calculators to empower sellers with confidence.
Create executive-facing thought leadership content, including reports, articles, and educational programs that establish Sigma as the voice of building with AI on enterprise data.
Conduct ongoing competitive intelligence and market analysis to identify white spaces and ensure Sigma's AI messaging remains sharp and defensible.
Serve as the primary external spokesperson for Sigma's AI strategy, representing the company at industry events, media interviews, and analyst briefings.
Guide complex buyer journeys for data and IT leaders, clarifying value propositions, risk mitigation strategies, and clear adoption pathways.
Establish key performance indicators to measure the impact of Product Marketing Management programs on pipeline generation, win rates, and customer acquisition cost.
Implement feedback loops from the market to product teams, ensuring customer insights directly influence AI feature development and prioritization.
Own the narrative around governance, security, and compliance for AI deployments, addressing enterprise risk concerns proactively.
Champion data-driven decision-making by tying Product Marketing initiatives to measurable business outcomes and revenue influence.
Mentor junior marketers in AI positioning, helping to build a scalable and repeatable go-to-market framework for future features.
Requirements
Bring a minimum of 8 years of product marketing experience, with a documented track record of driving product launches, building differentiation, and enabling sales success in complex enterprise environments.
Demonstrate deep fluency in the enterprise AI landscape, including large language models, agentic AI patterns, AI infrastructure, and the broader ecosystem of AI development and governance tools.
Show a proven history of developing positioning and messaging that resonates with technical audiences, including data scientists, engineers, and IT decision-makers, while driving measurable revenue outcomes.
Partner effectively with Product Management and Engineering to translate ambiguous customer problems and market signals into clear roadmap influence and prioritization.
Communicate complex AI concepts with precision and clarity for both executive sponsors and technical practitioners through written documents and verbal presentations.
Use a rigorous, data-driven mindset to measure the impact of Product Marketing Management initiatives on pipeline creation, conversion outcomes, and customer retention.
Prior experience in AI products, cloud data platforms, business intelligence, or analytics software is highly valued for contextual relevance.
Demonstrate comfort operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where product definitions and market needs evolve rapidly alongside AI innovation.
Exhibit strong judgment in balancing technical accuracy with business storytelling to create narratives that are both credible and persuasive.
Commit to collaborating across global time zones to support sales and customer success teams in San Francisco, New York, London, and Sydney.
